I agree with Brandon, never hurts to view other opinions. I just cant think of anyones opinion thats really valuable other than that of the FO. None of the analysts have a clue about the Cards. There is no way they can be experts on 32 teams, let alone the Cards who nobody cares about.
For instance i read a post on this board today where somebody pointed out that yes our biggest o-line weakness is guard but he also pointed out that versatility is very important and tackles can be moved to guard but not necessarily vice-versa. Thats a point that was well said and can be a valued arguement.[/QUOTE]

And you think no one who is paid to think of that stuff did?? If it werent for us fans those coachs wouldnt know anything.

The quack just made my point. A fan that has access to the internet knows more about football then someone who has made a career of the game. I guess NFL front offices should just go out and hire their biggest fans...we know more than they do anyways. I mean all we need is the internet right?

THATS why they wouldnt browse a forum.

lol. You just seem like a bitter dude. You've made no good argument AGAINST looking on a board. Your best was "somebody probably already knows that". Sure. Probably. But in the off-chance that they don't, it's worth checking out boards when you're bored. Beats the crap outta watching 99% of the crap on TV. Nobody is saying "Fire your whole staff and do exactly what you read by some random fans on a message board". Random people have great ideas that nobody ever thought of all the time

So you think Steve Keim is the ultimate human being who thinks of everything? He was born to analyze football from every perspective and point of view? Are you telling me Rod Graves couldnt have benefited from other opinions?

Its all about ROI. The people you assume would be browsing the forums are probably getting paid a lot of money and have far more important things to do. If they did look at a forum, which one? Which fan forum has the better posters there are several Arizona Cardinals boards, and why stop at Cardinals boards...if we think the fans are smarter then the people you hired...might as well check every teams forums cause they might have smart people too! And what about blogs, and what about the college football forums, I mean if we are talking about the draft, those fans saw far more of they guy than most average NFL fans.

they're opinions. There is no one single "best", for opinion, member, board, etc. Sometimes people are one-track minded, you get a thought in your head and you can't think of anything else (I notice I do that when I try to remember a name and think it starts with the wrong letter at first). The idea behind hearing other opinions is for it to make you take another look at your own opinion

I could not respect an organization that would run it's operations based on message board chatter.

I agree. As fans we are entitled to our opinion but then again we are not paid the big bucks to make the decisions. As mentioned in other posts on this thread I do believe the Cards have somebody that periodically monitors the board to see what fans are thinking.

If I'm an NFL GM I have a lot more information available on the draftable talent than any fan or fans of my team.

One individual who works at a university might have more inside dope on football players from his university, but front offices and scouts spend most of their time evaluating draft prospects and are going to know a whole lot more about their ability and football intelligence than any message board poster. One of the keys to the draft process is the individual interviews. Fans don't have that key piece of information. And they don't have the individual team medical information.

That said, the Cardinals should have listened to the fans [and Steve Keim] and picked Adrian Peterson over Levi Brown. :D

I don't think that team management has to seek out fans' opinions. I'm pretty sure that plenty of fans call and email their opinions to team headquarters all the time. I'm guessing that any NFL team is going to know which moves they make will be popular and which moves they make won't. Any front office that has to go on internet message boards to get ideas and opinions that they haven't heard before probably isn't in the right line of work.

I do think someone involved with the Cardinals public relations office would be wise to keep a pulse on fans by reading this board as sort of barometer. There are issues like security that arise on this forum that the FO should be aware. Although, there are some very knowledgeable football fans on this site I doubt the FO cares about our opinion on who to draft. I certainly do not want the Cardinals FO taking advice from talking heads either.

I dont know man there are some sweet mock drafts on this board;)
