Igor Tudor likely to replace Thiago Motta at Juventus

Yesterday, there was confidence that Serie A giants Juventus would hire Roberto Mancini as their new manager, things have now changed and Igor Tudor is firmly leading the race.

La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that Juve sporting director Cristiano Guintoli has danced around both Mancini and Tudor but the ex-Italy boss has asked for more from a financial perspective, leading to an agreement getting closer with Tudor, who was Andrea Pirlo’s assistant during the Italian’s stint as manager.

Tudor was initially hesitant to manage Juve on a temporary basis but he has now agreed to say ‘yes’. Mancini wanted an automatic renewal if Juve qualified for the top four but Tudor is happy with the option for extension. He is now the big favourite to replace Motta, who can be sacked at any point and he might not even last the Genoa game.

The Croatian was sounded out by Juve after the Coppa Italia loss to Empoli and he was the first alternative to Mancini.
