If any of you watched the lakers/sixers game tonight you had to be impressed with Iguodala.

He had 4 alley oops from running the court, played very good defense against Kobe, and gets his points in the flow of the game. I did not get to watch the whole game, but was very impressed with him.

The Suns may really be sorry they missed on this guy and now may not get anybody near as good around the 20th pick.

Perhaps, but would he get any playing time on our roster? He's averaging over 30 minutes a game as a starter in Philadephia. He might not have gotten the chance to prove himself here.

He would have played here, and would have been a great fit. The Suns gambled, and they lost. Plain and simple.

But they might not have taken Iguodala anyway, right? I thought I heard that they were also interested in Deng, not that he wouldn't also be a potentially good fit.

Still, you have to remember that they needed to shed the draft pick salary in order to make their run at Richardson. Right now, Richardson is bringing more to the team than either Iguodala or Deng would, in my opinion.

Plus, if we hit a home run with the Bulls pick, we'll start lookin' pretty good.

And aside from all that, I'm in the mindset of, "We're this good? I don't need to complain too much."

Amen to that. We are tops in the NBA. Not worth playin what ifs. Lets focus on the playoffs and then worry about who we get in this years draft with the bulls pick.

I really liked Andre Iguodala :( but at #15-17, there should be some decent options. The problem is, most of them are PG/SG/SF but with Quentin Richardson and 1 more body via Bulls Pick, I really got over it. I don't remember how much capspace the Suns would've had after the Nash signing but they probably couldn't of picked up anybody great. Suns got a pretty good wing and 1 more Draft Pick, Draft Picks are cool :D Without Trade, I'd be scouting ONLY 2nd Round Picks.

Right now I feel that home run could be Channing Frye. Before all of you start with the criticism about his strength but look at how he dominated Illinois and Oklahoma State in the tournament. Yes he must gain weight and get stronger but he can score inside, has a mid range jumper, can defend, pass, and showed leadership directing players on the court. I think he could back up Stoudamire and maybe even start at center moving Stoudamire down to his natural power forward position. I don't think he'll be a reach in the twenties if we're slated to pick there.

They did draft Deng, and then traded his rights, their interest in him was on behalf of Chicago. If it weren't for trading the rights away prior to draft day I would have bet they were interested in Iggy and assumed he would not be there when they selected.

I have made my bias known and do not like what Q delivers. I would much rather have been tied into Iggy for the rookie contract vs. Q for 6 years. 6M vs. 1.7 would have left the Suns with room to go after Mihm or Pryzbilla or just settle for Hunter and cap space to resign JJ. I am also guessing they may have thought that David Harrison may fall to the second round and only wanted him on a second round contract. They gambled and lost.

Hindsight is 20/20, isn't it? There was nothing that said any of that would have happened had we kept the pick.

Well right, but obviously they drafted him for the Bulls, so the selection doesn't tell us anything about the Suns' preferences.

If the Suns decide they don't like Richardson, he'll be easy to trade under his current contract. Even though he's flawed, he's an explosive, versatile player whose contract is fairly priced. The Suns have almost no risk with him. They wouldn't have risk with Iguodala on a rookie contract either, but I maintain that Richardson is better for this year's team right now.

Mihm and Pryzbilla aren't good enough to help this team play the way they want to play. And the Suns got Hunter anyway, of course.

and cap space to resign JJ.

The Suns don't need any cap space to resign Johnson. If they let him go, it will be because they think he's overpriced, not because they can't afford to pay him.

Also foresight, knowing what was going to be required for this summer should have been taken into consideration. Q may have been a motivator for production from JJ and mission accomplished, now move on from here.

Plus our pick from Chicago keeps getting farther down in the draft, another gamble that we are losing.

I think that the constant criticism of a player that has been a significant contributor to our current turn around is getting annoying. Q isn't going anywhere, he is playing the role that he was signed for exactly like he should. His shooting percentage is what it is because he was signed to hit 3's and spread out the other teams defense. Whether you like the role that he has been asked to play or not makes no difference to how well he is filling it. Maybe his shooting percentage could improve but I don't think that you would be able to find even 1 person within the Suns organization that holds the same opinion of Q that you do. Q isn't going to go anywhere so you might as well get used to seeing him in a Suns uniform. One more note, if the suns don't sign JJ next year, it will have nothing to do with the Q signing.
