Guy had no help when at St.Louis and was a tackling dummy. Last year I could not help follow what was going on with the Ravens because Boldin went there and numerous times I read reports from the team on how accurate Bulger was and that he was healthy. Wish we could trade for Palmer, but the Cincy Owner will not allow that. Maybe Kolb is an option but personally he did not show enough to me in limited time to be worth giving away our 1 pick next season and that is what Philly will probably want. If it turns out to be Bulger, I for one will not be upset

There is a long shot possibility depending on how long the court battle drags on that free agency could be wiped out this year and all FA players would return to their teams at the same pay. If that were to happen we would sure be in a suck position. We may already be in a suck position and not even know it. I guess we could then go find a QB in the Arena Football League. Hell, we might even have to keep Anderson.

If that were the case I wouldn't even watch would be a waste of my time and money.

I worry about the "shell shocked" reports of people who have watched him in Baltimore......would take Kolb for 2 seconds....not a first.

I strongly believe that Skelton is a much better prospect than Kolb, better arm and more accurate. I am not going to use the 4 games that Skelton started lastyear for a complete evaluation. Not having any reps with the 1st team until the last four weeks and how many drops during his games.

I would give a 3rd round for Kolb for competition. Andy Reid is just building Kolb worth, so he can get as much as possible for a player he doesn't want.

Do you honestly believe Skelton is more accurate than Kolb? How so? On 126 passes, his completion % is 48% (worse than Anderson). Kolb is 61%. Goes to show Skelton has some work to do with regards to mechanics and reading defenses. Going up 13 points is going to be a tall task. Skelton is not ready yet.

You're dead wrong on this. Reid traded McNabb, the franchise QB the last 10 seasons, because he knew Kolb was able to stand out. The team also signed him to a $12.5 million 1-year extension because they believed in him so much. Why wouldn't you want a QB like Kolb as a backup?

The only reason Kolb is expendable is because Vick played at an MVP level last season, the team believes in Kafka, and they can get a great ROI on Kolb's draft status. He was a 2nd round pick. The Eagles are not going to take any less than two 2nd rounders for him. They'd rather him ride out the last year of his contract.

Kolb,s accuracy 30% on deep passes, 50% on passes 10-19 yards, 8 TDs, 8 Ints. Not great stats to give up a #1 pick, and surely not worth 12.5 million. I never saw or heard that contract mentioned in Eagles territory.

Everyone has their opinions.

If the lockout lasts until late September/October, I am TOTALLY OK and ould even welcome Bulger as a stop gap for a few games in 2011...

Then next offseason get Luck/Barkley/another QB and go for the future...

I'm good with Bulger too.
I just don't like the idea of spending so much draft capital on someone who IMO doesn't have much upside. Kolb probably has the best chance (of the available QB's) to be good and for a long time, but I think there are doubts and a ceiling or else he'd already be playing for Philly (and they would not be letting him go).

I feel pretty good about Skelton's upside. No, he didn't play very well last year, but did show great composure under very trying circumstances with minimum preperation.
I like his upside.

That said, I thought Leinart was gonna be good too.

Prediction -

We will either sign Bulger or Kolb.

But our starting QB will turn out to be Skelton.

Rationale:

1. Gut assessment of the overall talent of each of the three.

2. Skelton will know the system best coming out of a truncated system.

3. Skelton has the best combo of size, arm and mobility of the three.

Only major variable in question - How fast can Skelton continue to develop into a compleat starting NFL QB we can win with?

If we have a shortened season, I can see Skelton being the starter.

If we end up with a full season, Bulger will be signed to at least start the season.

I just can't stomach giving up a first or even 2 2nds for Kolb.

I agree. This is why the Cardinals should keep their assets and sign a FA QB like Bulger in a truncated season.
