Ii would not like seeing a Cardinal team without Conner, or someone just as good. We couldn't win without a tough run game. Lots of cheap RBs, but not tough runners like him. Sign him at whatever reasonable cost. Guy is special as far as I am concerned.
Definitely its more easy to find elusive backs then a big guy like Conner who can move the chain

Like @juza76 said, you could make a decent case that Conner is our offensive MVP. He has like 14 or 15 TDs or something crazy like that. A million big plays.

But he's not a workhorse type back either. He can't run like that 20 times a game for a whole season and hold up. There's no way. Love him to death but you can't overpay for him, although I'm sure some lesser GM will throw eight or nine million a year for three years his way, and he'll be gone.

Conner is solid in that short yardage bruiser ball. Love his contribution in the passing game as well. He can certainly be a valuable part of a RB rotation.

We need to see more out of Eno before I am ready to anoint him as a co-starter though.

If we keep Conner, we definitely need to draft a RB as well.

There are a few quality free agent RB's this year that shouldn't command big money...Penny from Seattle, Carson from Seattle, Darrel Williams (KC), Sony Michel, and Melvin Gordon.

The perfect RB IMO - a faster James Conner.

If no one else will. He was about the only reason for me to cheer, as all facets of the game had me hurling my hat at the tv. Ran hard and with purpose. He literally carried the team down the field when all else failed. I had always heard about how hard he ran at ASU and I saw it on full display. Dare I say get him more involved? Hell, if Chase can't stay healthy, I see no reason why we can't duplicate the two back system he and JC had early. He's got a fan in me for sure.
He should of been used a whole lot more this year instead of wearing out Edmunds and Conner. No excuse for it.

Eno looked real good and fights for yardage. A keeper in my opinion. Conner signing is a big deal. Makes the red zone offense so much better. A good receiver and most importantly shows up for a fight. This guy doesn’t like to lose and has the physicality I wish this team had more of.

I think Conner is going to get 5M+ and he would be absolutely worth in for his fit in this offense.
I’ll be surprised. He’s been a revelation for us. But he’s still averaging 3.7 yards per carry. That isn’t lighting the world on fire. He’s been shockingly good catching the ball and grinding needed first down conversions and TDs. But he’s not been a dynamic runner.

Yes. His YPC won't ever be that high. It isn't what this offense needs. When it is 3rd and 1 or 3rd and 2 and Conner gets the ball, more often than not, he gets the 1st down. That doesn't translate well at all in YPC.
Agreed. It also tends not to translate into big dollars from other teams.

I would like to see a line set and willing to do an avatar bet. I think Conner will get more than people think.

You are absolutely correct. Conner will get you 5 yards when he should have only gotten 3. However, we will never see him break off a 50-60 yard run.

And I say all this fully loving what he’s meant for this team and not wanting to lose him. But he’s not a top tier rb. He’s 27th in the league in rushing. Including behind two QBs (Lamar, and surprisingly josh Allen). He’s an amazing plugger with underrated receiving skills, but I’m unsure how high the demand is for that description.

Nobody is saying that he is, or should be paid like one. The top tier running backs are getting 10M+. McCaffery got 4yr 60 + million, (which doesn't look good with his health concerns) and Henry got 4yr50M.

Giving Conner half that at 5M seems completely reasonable.

Even Drake got more than $5M. I'd expect that someone might throw $8M at Conner and that's more than I would like to spend on a limited, but fun player.

As much as the offense needs Conner, I don't think there is any chance they pay him 8M unless it is another 1 year deal.

If Chase isn’t here next year we need a better back up than Eno. He’s a great guy to have in spot duty if your big guns are out.

$8M for a season?!? For 3.7 yards per carry? That makes him the 9th highest paid rb in the league. Ahead of ekeler, hunt, Carson, saquon.

No way he gets that. If I were to set the line, I would probably set it at 4.5M and take the over.
