I'm impressed the way this team is coming together.

1. The run game: Awesome. If Emmitt even sniffs the field when (if) he returns it's no less then a crime.

2. The O-line: Before the break these guys stunk. Since the break they've started to play up to their billing.

3. Mental game: Relatively mistake-free football has been played the last couple of weeks.

4. Pass rush: (this one's a "relative" catagory) The Cardinals have been pressuring the QB much more the last couple of weeks then they did early in the season. Pace and Johnson seem to be playing better every week.

5. Secondary: They played incredible today. This game should have been a run-away Cardinals win largely due to the secondary play (there's a case to be made that their drops are the reason they didn't run away with it, too; but I choose to focus on the positive). I didn't think our guys could run with the bengals WRs, they did--thank you!!

6. Coaching: mixing up blitzes and packages on defense and committing to Shipp on offense. Keep it up.

I agree except for #3. We have to knock off the stupid penalties.

Nice post Pariah.

The offensive and defensive lines seem to be making a statement.

The d-backs look for the most part to be aggressive and ball hawks.

I just wish we had a healthy Bryant Johnson....I think that would open up the ground game even more.

Two weeks ago, we were thinking about our top 3 draft pick next April. Now, I can legitimately see a 5-5 record after beating Pitt and Cleve. The Cardinals are not doing it with mirrors. They are using the time honored tradition of pounding the ball with a quality RB. I don't see that stopping.

I listened to the Bengal announcers today and they said the Cards were playin:

SMASH MOUTH FOOTBALL

Nothin wrong with that.....Woody Hayes called it "10 yards and a cloud of dust"!

I am highly impressed with hill. Showed me a lot today. Hopefully his good play this week carries through the rest of the year.

a healthy leonard davis seems to have made a ton of difference . Clement seems to play better when his buddy is healthy. Leonard pretty much missed the entire preseason, came back with the huge cast on his hand and was out of shape a little - and was pretty ineffective..but since his ankle has healed, he has the melon off of his hand, and he has gotten into game shape - the entire oline seems to be playing better. He probably had almost 100 lbs on john thorton today -and you could tell on running downs..

Did you notice the color of his jersey in the fourth quarter? DARK RED. When things get wet they get darker. He was sweatin' his butt off out there! Not just him, those guys were workin' hard out there.

The play of the defense against the run is what impressed me.
Last week they easily handled what may be the best running back duo, runners that gave Tampa Bay fits.
This week they allowed darn few running yards. That's an area where the Cards also have shown vast improvement. The defense coaches had good game plans in both instances.

worth mentioning that the defensive line is pretty much the same guys we had last year - excluding pace and king.. seems it is more due to improvement than new personell. Heck..I saw the usual message board whipping board boy russel davis make a play or two today.

We played a 3 man front effectively today utilzing Bryant and Tanner and Johnson. we got godd pressure and were able to bring heat from different angles. All in all I hope to see more of this front.

Oh, he can sniff the field but as a backup to Shipp...;)
