i've rediscovered the band explosions in the sky. i hadn't listened to them in like 4 years when all of the sudden, last summer, i was flipping through tv stations and they were in the background on "friday night lights." hearing them was actually what made me stop and watch the show. their newest album is really good.

Bobby Valentino. For the R&B heads, save your money. Decent, but not worth a purchase. He's got like 4 outstanding songs on a 16 track cd. Don't be fooled by "Anonymous" which is one of them. His first one is better imo.

Since yesterday I've been listening to a nearly 3 hour long bootleg recording of Tuesday's Smashing Pumpkins concert in Paris, the Pumpkins first gig since the 2000 breakup. Great to finally hear some new Pumpkins material! The Pumpkins new cd Zeitgeist comes out on 7/7. btw, it's not the original band lineup. Billy Corgan of course and the original drummer Jimmy Chamberlin are still in the band. D'Arcy and James Iha didn't rejoin. D'Arcy's replacement Ginger Reyes is a HOTTIE. Here's a photo of her from Tuesday's show...
