They cant use Bachmann Turner Overdrive without the band or what?
They stopped being Bachman-Turner Overdrive when Randy left the group back in the 70's and the remaining members went by BTO after that. The group has reformed multiple times and is again currently active including Randy and sometimes Fred so using the group name seems inappropriate to me if it's not the actual current group involved. I'm just guessing that's the reason.

Yep, whether it was The Stones, T Rex, Creedence, Grand Funk, Chicago or BTO, I rarely bothered with their full names even back in the 60's and 70's. But for a few, such as Led Zeppelin, I never felt like shortening their name although I can't give a good reason for my inconsistency.

Mind blown. I never knew until now that T Rex started and went by Tyrannosaurus Rex. I've only ever known them as T Rex.

As for BTO, I can not listen to those guys anymore thanks to Randy Bachman. At my last job during Covid we'd have weekly company wide meeting where the CEO would update everyone on what was going on in the company regarding the pandemic. One meeting he had Randy on to "inspire" the troops. Went over like a lead ballon. It was so cringe. Randy talked a little bit while he kept doing this cringe Taking Care of Business parodies. "Business" was replaced by the company name, he worked covid into it, etc. I lost all respect for him as an artist.

It was a huge dud inside of the company too. It was a tech company with all but a handful of employees over 40 and lots of them were under 30. I was one of the old guys at 45 and had to explain to my team who he even was. No one knew him or cared for it. Then it backfired further because it pissed off everyone that money was spent on that while they were being super cheap on everything else. It was the start of the end. Myself and the entire mobile team left the company within 6 months.

BTW, "That's how we talked in the 70s, we didn't have a moment to spare"
