If your guy isn't there, trade out. Keep in mind what STL got last year from Dallas for the #6 pick. Try to beat a mid 1st(14) and 2nd(45)

Good idea. Get an extra 2nd round selection. Most of our seconds have been good for us.

Except for RB. Under no circumstances do you select a RB in the 2nd round for the Cardinals. I have 50 years of history on my side when I say this. :D

Umm really 2nd round has kinda sucked period
2012 Kevin Kolb, D+
2011 Ryan Williams, D
2010 Daryll Washington, A
2009 Cody Brown, F
2008 Calais Campbell, A-
2007 Alan Branch, D-
2006 Fat Man, C-
2005 JJ Arrington, D

That report card ain't good

We made some better picks early in the 2000's, but we need more from this round.

Think of three positions we have desperate need in and rank the best amongst those. Take out QB and RB because IMO no one is worthy of a 1st round selection this year. At 7, someone of substance is bound to be there in a position of need.

That being said:

OT
OLB
OG

I see you leave out Boldin and Dansby to try to bolster your point. A huge omission. Ryan Williams and JJ Arrington are both second round RBs so they don't count toward the success rate.

Also I completely disagree with your grades on Calais, Lutui and Branch.

I don't count Kolb at all. Has to be a player the Cards actually drafted.

I count Kolb because we gave up our 2nd for him,
Figured 8 years was a pretty good gauge, Yes Boldin and Dnasby rate high.
Branch stunk for us.
Sorry you don't like Calais, but he is very good IMO.
Lutui was an average guard at best.

Best player at a position of need. Generate a list of top players at our need positions QB, OT, DE, DT, OLB, & OG. Identify which players are worthy of a top 15 pick at each of those positions and then take use that list to rank those players against each other to identify BPA.

Just my thoughts.

My knowledge of college football players isn't very good, but I'd be more than happy to accompany you gentlemen in your endeavors. If nothing else, I'll buy the beer.:D

Forget the golden years and do all the fun things while you can still enjoy them.

All I can say is----------you guys had better be watchful that Dawg doesn't keep you out all night howling at the moon. Desert Dawgs are known to do that you know!

Come on you aren't really that slow are you? Calais grade like Lutui's and Branch's should be higher. Campbell is one of the best Dlinemen in the NFL.

I still like Geno but he will be gone baby gone, same with Joeckel. I'm starting to believe we will have our choice between Fisher and Warmack, I hope Werner is there as a maybe. I got my eyes on some defensive guys but the BPA (IMO) might just end up being an O-line guy.

All I want to hear come April is the name of an offensive lineman called out at the #7 selection. None of the QBs this year are worth burning a #7 pick on. Build the team line first especially when its a good year for linemen. A QB in this draft isn't going to turn this team around in 2013 so I am all for waiting until 2014 when there will be better choices.

If anybody else already has an account over on the seahawks blue forum, they are still looking for like 10 more GMs. "Dougula's draft day forum" is the spot to get hooked up.

As far as my current work on the Cards draft goes, I've only concentrated on the first round so far. Good thing we got us some help up in here. This year's draft looks to be pretty hard to call, not one of those plain and simple, clearly mapped out ones with only a few surprises. I got 3 fat guys (O-line), one QB, and a couple D guys. If we get Geno I aint buying the jersey, I saved my self some serious coin last year by just getting a "skeleton" tee shirt when Whiz named him the man...Whiz was loco ono.

That's a lot of Os. I think we should add O to the team, he's the only guy I hang out with that is as old as our new coaches, in the hippie community, we'd call him an wise elder that can handle his own/booze.
7 is our pick, 7 is my lucky number, we need 7 people. 777

But this will be our first vote, so the hat guys will decide.

Well I've been out of the loopty loo for a minute with the gardening expo we just threw. I got to catch the Daytona but I literally haven't watched any of the combine, just bveen reading in here when I get a chance.

So who are we leaning with?

Should we just come up with our top 7 players for the first? Our first choice could be worth 7 points on our draft board, so if we all pick the same dude he will have the highest score, and our last (7th) choice will only be worth one point on the draft board. We can even set a certain number, so if all of our top choices are gone we can discuss the trade ops.

With the QBs out this year, and considering we just brought in 18 O-line coaches...my top 7 list will most likely be a BPA list of my opinions. I'm leaning towards the fat guys though, especially if we are still going with Kolb.

First round lists should be complete soon, the draft starts Thursday morning at 9 am. Each team has a 10 hour window and the draft clock shuts down every night at 10 pm. But they tend to go fast so we gotta be on top of it. I haven't logged in for a minute, I will tonight when I get home and I'll see if we have any trade offers on the line.

Thanks,
desertmikey
