I'm still concerned about our pass rush

Anyone else? Bulger basically stood in the pocket all day except for 3-4 plays. Though we are in the top 10 in sacking the QB, that consistancy at hurrying the QB seems to still be lacking. Will Davis needs more of Berry's PT every week because Bert continues to show next to nothing.

Is it me, or our blitzes pretty much ineffective? We blitz alot with next too no pressure or no results every week.

I'm concerned with it too, but all teams have holes, and we just have to make up for it in other areas. We can still (and I believe, will) make it to the SB with what we have.

I'm worried, but not much we can do about it until the draft because we don't have a quality rushing linebacker.

Will Davis really impressed me today. Take Bertrand out of the rotation.

Will Davis is coming along very well.

Berry needs to be in the rotation less but not removed. Keep his legs fresh and he does get pressure on the QB.

DC Davis has to scheme and manufacture a pass rush. One great pass rusher is all this team needs. Nine O, Campbell, Haggens, O'keafor, Berry all have decent to good pass rushing skills. Add a top notch pass rusher and QB's will be on the ground more then not.

It does seem like we get the pressure when we need it most.

When you are up on teams like we have been most of the season, knowing that a team is going to pass on most downs, it is very tiring to rush all out to the passer on each play. We saw that last week with guys taking themselves out.

I think our biggest problem is we don't have a highly skilled pass rusher. But with the guys we do have it just takes more effort.

I did see the Pendergast rush 3 too many times in the game yesterday, probably to help Adams in coverage but it sure hurt in the rush. Then again Bulger has NEVER been able to throw the fade route in his whole life.Nor a few other routes. So we saw all that bulger has left in his probable last game as a ram forever, with the broken leg. They want to move on so fast that they don't even have to see him leave town.

They will have lost more money on Marc than any other player in rams history. The highest paid ram EVER!!! They'll be paying for him for a while.LMAO:D One of the worst moves in signing history.Every ram fan knows it too.

Alright coach Davis that 3 man rush stuff won't work next week with a running quarterback. So STOP IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cards are 6th in sacks and 8th in interceptions.

Davis does a fantastic job of generating a pass rush. Unfortunately he has to blitz a lot to get those results. We don't have an elite pass rusher so even many of the blitzes aren't as effective as they should be.

We need to look at our ranking for pressures, total yds & scoring to put this all in the proper perspective. I do know that total yds and scoring are dramatically improved from last year.

So while our pass rush is decent it does need to improve. We still give up a ton of Passing yards and our CB's are pretty darn good. We do basically have to Strong Safeties starting for us and AW will never be mentioned as one of the top coverage safeties in the league.

What we do not have is an OLB that can rush the passer from the edge with great effectiveness. When playing a 3-4 defense it should be your main source of a pass rush.

What we do have is two 3-4 DE's that are very very effective at rushing the passer. The pass rush we get from Dockett and Campbell is a very rare thing when it comes to a 3-4 defense.

We are just lacking that OLB coming off the edge. It kills me that we do not know what we have in Cody Brown. Will Davis is a solid pass rusher but he reminds me of Calvin Pace, while effective he is certainly not elite.

To this point the Cardinals have 29 sacks, 31 hits, 105 pressures, and 11 passes batted at the LOS.

For ALL of last year they had 46 sacks, 66 hits, 160 pressures, and 17 batted passes.

AZ is #21 in YPG (19th last year), #11 in scoring (28th last year).

Wait a Minute...

Don't the Cards have 28 sacks so far this season? (Compare this to Tennessee's 27. And there are plenty of other teams with fewer sacks).

However don't expect our pass rushers to rack up many pelts this Sunday. (Tennessee has only allowed 7 sacks - and, during the past 4 weeks of the Vince Young Era, have only allowed one freakin' sack).

More important, perhaps, is that our Front 7 at least get in Young's face, get their hands up to disrupt his throwing lanes and keep him contained - both to the side and up the middle.

Sunday's game will not be your basic average defensive outing for the Cardinals. Because of Young, we will have to play by different rules of engagement.

Those numbers can be deceiving, they have 265 PA's compared to 316 rushing attempts. With Young at the helm it should be a run oriented offensive attack so we may not get a lot of opportunities for sacks.

We should have the FULL ROTATION BACK this week.So no one should be tired of chasing Vince Young around.I expect our offense to score a lot and keep our defense off the field as much as they can also.

We will have something very special for this one game only offense. Its like playing the wildcat offense, only we got a running qb that does'nt have that many true speed demon down field weapons. He has two very good tight ends. Not Vernon Davis or Dallas Clark type tight ends. One is an ole' man and the other a young pup.The ole' man can still get er' done though. He's pretty slow though.

Don't know if they get their best wr back for this game.He missed the texans game.I think Chris Johnson is gonna get hit a lot harder than he got hit all last game very early.Hope the refs keep the game clean. They have a speed rusher who had 2 sacks last game we need to keep an eye on plus KVB also moves around to all defensive line positions to take advantages of weaknesses.

The titans just got their starting cb back for the texans game with his arm in a cast so lets see how he does against Larry Fitzgerald?:DI think we are finally starting to go downfield more with the ball and are having longer RAC after catches too because of our run game opening up.

Vince Young doesn't get sacked because they hardly pass the ball. We need lane discipline to contain CJ and Vince Young. We also need to let VY keep it on the option to contain CJ and then pop VY hard. THAT is how we will win this game, not sacks.

Thanks. I was thinking of 3rd down effeciency and Red Zone defense that is much improved. The YPG, as you posted, is still an area that needs improved.

Well YPG are inflated by the fact that we're playing from a sizable lead in most games and teams are frantically trying to come back against us and putting up huge passing numbers.

Other than the Panthers debacle our run defense has been pretty good most weeks.

It certainly plays a part but I'm sure we haven't improved much on giving up big plays. That was another goal Whis had for the D.

IF we had a better pash rush with the sizable leads you mention then the opposition wouldn't be able to put up huge passng numbers.
