All of the posters ready to place blame on the loss today, is this how you react to real life situations? WOW it's just a game. I've watched the Cards for over 40 years and this was one of the best teams I've ever seen they've had and was very entertained by this season. So if you think that some coach needs to be fired, or player cut, or the ball boy released, remember that the next time you screw up at work. Your ass is out of there !!!!!

The only blame that can be placed for our late-season collapse is upon a total lack of talent available to sign.

The tool shed is only so big.

I think most guys on here are realists and aren't asking for the heads of the caoching staff. They simply made mistakes as we all do.

But yes some players deserve to be cut right now. Ginn and butler. They have repeatedly messed up and during the biggest game of there life they both lay a major egg. That deserves a firing. If you did the same at work, you would be gone sooner than later.

I get what you are saying with people overreacting however with any loss or mistake someone is to blame. I think ARZ had a great season as I along most on this board couldn't have REALISTICALLY predicted 11 wins. Now management and BA need to get an offseason plan together to address this teams needs and big decisions regarding Fitz, DD and Washington are going to need to be made immediately.

You hit the nail on the head. The coaching staff was just working with what they had. It is nearly impossible for a team to win without its #1 & #2 QB, #1 RB and various starters throughout the year (Fitz, CC, HB, etc). As I mentioned in another thread Stanton going down was the proverbial nail in the coffin, I may be branded as a pessimist by the dreamers and "die hard" fans but thinking otherwise was wishful thinking, I was just being realistic.

What's to overreact at?

Worst offensive performance in history and most boards melt down. Given our track record most fans take it very well comparatively.

Hell they fired a guy in Frisco who would be a God here.

As bad as we were statistically today...we were still right in the game until really late.

That doesn't bode well for the Panthers, IMHO.

Exactly. This should have been about a 38-7 loss to a good team.

I'm stoked about this team. Was it disappointing to see them go 2-4 after starting 9-1? Hell ya, but I completely understand they did the best they could... If you wanna ***** legitimately, curse the special teams and strength/conditioning coaches. Kevin spencer and John Lott are far>>>>>>>>>>>> than what we have now. That's where improvement should be sought.

This season feels very hollow now. From nothing to team with best record in NFL blah blah, blah. To come out and perform like this against a very mediocre football team is extremely dissappointing, no matter how you look at it.

First of all this is still a free country and if you don't like a poster just use the ignore feature.

Some argue this was just bad luck, you can say that or you can say that the idea that Carson Palmer was a legit franchise QB is / was the problem because that led us to NOT pursue something else.

If we are going into next year hoping that Carson makes it all year then I think we'll end up having this same discussion again and that's really all I want to avoid.

I can't say it was a great season. It was a great first 14 games. Then not only did our 3rd string QB cause our offense to be the worst in the NFL but our defense suddenly also became the worst in the NFL. THe last 3 games were as bad as I've seen from the Cardinals in my 40 years as a fan.
Nothing to be upset over I guess???

Hold on a second. This was not the team that was 9-1. Things were really starting to jell with the run game when Ellington was playing and Cooper was inserted and thereafter followed the second raft of injuries. This was like watching a baseball team out of pitchers and havbing to leave a guy in to get his brains beat out. It was a great season. The injuries could not be addressed when they became an avalanche.

You must have a short term memory problem. Look no further back than 2012 to find worse stretches of ineptitude...or if you want to really torture yourself pull out some VHS tapes of the Coach Mac "era"...or the 5 game losing streak to close out 1988 when Lomax went down for the year.
