we should be in good shape to get one of the top 2 or 3. Looking over which teams haven't drafted a top franchise QB in the last two years and removing those teams who have had theirs for a few yrs now, it only leaves 4-5 teams that I see who might be needing to use their 1st pick on one next year. The Jags, Chiefs, Bucs (who I have no idea about), Titans, and Cardinals.

All the other teams are set at QB for several years at least. It will be interesting to see who the experts thinks will be 1st round franchise type QBs as the college season progresses this year.

Team - QB
Arizona - Kevin Kolb
Atlanta - Matt Ryan
Baltimore - Joe Flacco
Buffalo - Ryan Fitzpatrick
Carolina - Cam Newton
Chicago - Jay Cutler
Cincinnati - Andy Dalton
Cleveland - Colt McCoy/Brandon Weedon
Dallas - Tony Romo
Denver - Peyton Manning
Detroit - Matthew Stafford
Green Bay - Aaron Rodgers
Houston - Matt Schaub
Indianap - Andrew Luck
Jacksonv - Blaine Gabbert
Kansas C - Matt Cassel
Miami - Chad Henne/Ryan Tannehill
Minnesota - Christian Ponder
New Engl - Tom Brady
New Orl - Drew Brees
NY Giants - Eli Manning
NY Jets - Mark Sanchez/ Tim Tebow
Oakland - Carson Palmer/Matt Leinart
Philly - Michael Vick/Nick Foles
Pittsburgh - Ben Roethlisberger
San Diego - Philip Rivers
San Fran - Alex Smith
Seattle - Matt Flynn
St. Louis - Sam Bradford
Tampa - Josh Freeman
Wash - RG III
Tenn - Matt Hasselbeck

Well I draft QB 1st round if he is BPA, I'm excited about the offense this year...
Kolb-Skelton- Lindley
The Bean - Rwill- LSH
Fitz-Floyd- Doucett- Roberts
Levi-Massie-Bridges

To me it all depends on the playcaller running more, play action-max protecting the QB at least once? stupid is what stupid does.

why name OTs and not G, C, TEs?

in order to run the ball more, LSH can't be our only health RB too...

I would add St.Louis to that list if Bradford falls on his face again. The good thing is the Cards are likely to have a good shot at Tyler Wilson. Barkley will likely be the first QB off the board, which is good because he's overrated to me. Let's hope Landry Jones, Tyler Bray, and the kid from Va Tech light it up this year too. In fact, Wilson may be in for a down year because he lost his coach and all of hiw WR corp. Still, he's the best QB in the draft next year.

Tennessee drafted Jake Locker in the Top 10 just last year. I don't think they'll be in the market.

If Tampa really gives up on Josh Freeman after this year, I'll happily trade our 2013 & 2014 second-rounders for him. He's Ben Roethlisberger without being an ******.

Also, Philly will likely be in the market for a QB. Vick gets beat up and I think his contract makes it easy to cut him. Eiter way, they need a better prospect to take over in the near future. Kafka is probably more of a backup and Foles won't preclude them from taking a top QB prospect.
Teams definitely in the QB mix, imho:
Arizona
KC
Philly
Oak- Palmer isn't getting any younger and I doubt Leinart and Pryor are long term solutions.

Team in the mix if things go terribly wrong:
St. Louis
Buffalo
Houston
SF
Seattle

Chances are the Cards are going to have a great shot at a QB if they want one. Btw, I refuse to do a mock draft that doesn't have the Cards selecting Tyler Wilson. It worked with Wells so it will work with Wilson :).

Jets need a QB since they have 2 imposters on their roster now.

Is Philly going to use a first-round pick on a QB, though? Maybe. According to Spotrac.com, Vick's contract only has $7 million guaranteed, and they'll only be on the hook for $4.2 million in "dead" money should they part ways with him following the 2012 season. What a great deal they got on Vick's contract.

Interesting thing on the Jags: I think that part of the deal with the new CBA is that all rookie contracts are fully guaranteed. If the Jags do pull the plug on Blaine Gabbert after next year, he'll be on their books for a little more than $7 million for 2013 and 2014.

I wouldn't be shocked to see the Cowboys select a first round QB if they end up out of the playoffs again. They may feel they have been as good as they are going to be with Romo and might go in a different direction. He would have one more year on his contract and would definitely be tradable.

Romo would have a $19 million-plus cap charge for the Cowboys in 2013 should he stay on the roster. If he's traded, they'd have to immediately absorb $7.6 million. It'd be really difficult to start from scratch with Garrett and pretty much everyone else on their roster entering their prime.

Still, Tyler Wilson is an Arkansas guy...

Do you DE c. Campbell? This is a post about why he's excited about the offense.

Or are you referring to the original list of QBS and Jason Campbell? He's backing up cutler in chicago, I think.

Don't kid yourself. Many teams will be in the market for a QB, and as Washington proved, others who don't have the top couple picks will pay a boatload to move up if they aren't in position.

I could easily see Baltimore and especially Chicago deciding to draft a QB. If the Bears have another bad season the Lovie Smith will probably finally get the axe and I'd virtually guarantee a new coach would not want Cutler, and the fans dont exactly love Cutler either.

The Cardinals missed out on Matt Barkley but luckily Logan Thomas is still available. Unless John Skelton really impresses in 2012, Arizona will be in the market for a new franchise quarterback.

He's one of those guys that are very athletic and has potential but every time I have watched him he stinks. I'll take Wilson over him anyday.

Agreed, Freeman is a stud. Freeman would dominate in the NFC West.

Team - QB
Arizona - Kevin Kolb (Likely)
Atlanta - Matt Ryan (Unlikely)
Baltimore - Joe Flacco (Unlikely)
Buffalo - Ryan Fitzpatrick (Unlikely; just signed to a massive extension)
Carolina - Cam Newton (Not going to happen)
Chicago - Jay Cutler (Darkhorse)
Cincinnati - Andy Dalton (Unlikely)
Cleveland - McCoy/Weeden (Unlikely, though if Weeden is bad..)
Dallas - Tony Romo (Darkhorse)
Denver - Peyton Manning (Unlikely)
Detroit - Matthew Stafford (Unlikely)
Green Bay - Aaron Rodgers (Unlikely)
Houston - Matt Schaub (Darkhorse)
Indianap - Andrew Luck (Unlikely)
Jacksonv - Blaine Gabbert (Darkhorse)
Kansas C - Matt Cassel (Likely)
Miami - Ryan Tannehill/Moore (Unlikely)
Minnesota - Christian Ponder (Darkhorse)
New Engl - Tom Brady (QBOF?)
New Orl - Drew Brees (Unlikely)
NY Giants - Eli Manning (Unlikely)
NY Jets - Mark Sanchez/ Tim Tebow (Darkhorse)
Oakland - Carson Palmer/Matt Leinart (Impossible...)
Philly - Michael Vick/Nick Foles (Unlikely)
Pittsburgh - Ben Roethlisberger (Unlikely)
San Diego - Philip Rivers (Unlikely)
San Fran - Alex Smith (Darkhorse)
Seattle - Matt Flynn (Likely)
St. Louis - Sam Bradford (Darkhorse)
Tampa - Josh Freeman (Unlikely)
Wash - RG III (Unlikely)
Tenn - Matt Hasselbeck/Jake Locker (Unlikely)

So by my count I see only two teams that I would consider likely to draft a QB next year (Cardinals and Chiefs) and eight darkhorse teams, which means that there are a plethora of teams that would select a QB in the first round.

Schaub is entering a contract year this year. If the Texans don't play themselves out of the lottery, they could very well draft a quarterback next year.

How could you list the Raiders as "impossible"? Of all the teams in the league I would say they are a virtual lock to want a QB next season.

And the Bills situation with Fitzpatrick is the same as ours with Kolb, they can dump him and only owe him 6 million. If they have a bad season I'd put them as a certainty to want a QB too.

Depending on how their seasons play out I'd honestly say at least 8 teams are "likely" to pick a QB if one of the top prospects are on the board for them.
