that he is better off playing alongside Larry Fitzgerald. I understand the money issue, but he's already a millionaire. Why go somewhere else to become a number one guy where he will just get double covered. I've always said that Larry Fitzgerald makes Anquan Boldin better and vice versa. When healthy, Boldin was still getting the most plays out of the receivers. I think that's why Arizona is so unique because of the fact they have two number one guys, it creates a better offense because defenses have to choose wisely about who they cover (not to mention having Breaston and Doucet and even Hightower as other options)

Boldin was the number one guy and was double covered before Fitz arrived. Did he not set rookie records. You do want to be #1 guy, do well, and make Fitz like money. That ain't happening here.

Being a millionaire means not much anymore and Boldin wants his place in NFL history. I don't blame him for being ambitious. I can't question his heart or his effort when he's been healthy to play, and they love him in the locker room, so he hasn't become a cancer. That's the sign of a disciplined player. If he can get his way, good for him. No qualms here. He just happens to be on the same team as the best receiver in the NFL.

He's stated a number of times that this is where he'd prefer to play. "This is my home now".

I think that if Warner does come back, it will be with the insistance that Boldin is included in his return. That would mean at least a 2-3 yr extension for him and a signing bonus. I think that's what will happen ,if like I say, Warner decides he wants to play another year.

Otherwise I believe we'll cut ties with him. I kind of sucks that he's tied in with what Warner does, but Warner does have that kind of clout in this town now.

The cool thing is that Warner can now seriously have an impact reguarding his request for a new contract for Anquan by coming back himself contingent on the Cards keeping AB. Not that that's the reason he would return , but it would have an impact on AB staying in Red for the next few seasons at least.

How much is enough money?
Just a little bit more...

Sounds like class warfare. I won't play that game. If a guy thinks his market value is more -- or much more -- than what he's being paid, his American duty is to pursue the better deal. We don't have the same animosity towards movie actors doing the same thing, but we have an emotional investment in sports teams so it irritates us

My point was that regardless of income, pretty much everyone feels that if they had just a bit more, then ______________________ (fill in the blank).

I do agree with the part that Boldin was doing fine before Fitz came. But frankly being the "number 1" receiver is just a label. In the 16 games between Fitz and Boldin, Boldin led the team with receptions 7 out of the 15 games he played (likely could have been 8 if he didnt get injured the last game) Fitz only led in 5 games. Now put on top the fact that Fitzgerald was tied for the lead 4 times and Boldin was tied twice, they both led the team in receptions 9 times and thats not including the fact that Boldin was injured for a portion of the season. Therefore it proves they are both very productive and it proves that maybe their situation isnt about #1 or #2, but about how the defense is covering them that particular game. Does Q deserve the same salary as Larry? I guess depending on who you ask you'll get a different answer, but the whole #1/#2 receiver thing is just a label. This team has two guys putting up "number 1" numbers, and if Anquan was healthy the entire year, he likely could have had closer to the numbers Larry had. These two make each other better. I don't buy the whole number 1 label, at least on this team.

Maybe he wants to buy his cousin a truck and own a home next to Tiger Woods. Whatever. But if he gets what he's looking for, we are talking about quite a bit more cash than a bit more.

Boldin is a professional athlete. A former Superstar in college and a former top-notch number 1 NFL WR. Until Larry Fitzgerald came around. Do not underestimate Boldin's ego, he WANTS to be a #1 again. I think he's fallen off a bit, so I agree with you, he would be better suited staying here. He could accept an extension paying him as what he is best suited as, and he is best now when someone else is drawing double coverage.

He will be traded to someone this off-season. I think the team would take a 2nd and a 5th and call it a day.

It's in both parties interest for a trade to happen simply because of the situation.

We need depth and picks, he needs cash and to be a number one, trades rarelly happen but when they do it's usually at exactly this stage, with a year or two left on the players deal when they still have value and when you have the depth to trade them for other depth on your team.

It's a business from both sides, it stinks as a fan but it's the way it is.
