Indiana only has Tinsley and Keith McLeod left at PG, lets trade em Banks preferably for Diogu.
Yeah, and in a follow-up trade Burke for Granger.

However, I would love to see Diogu in Suns-uniform. But IND has to be very high on him since he had to be the only (OK, Jackson is stupid and Harrington overrated but Dunleavy and Murphy may become even worse) reason why they accepted that salary-dump from GSW.

I'm a Golden Domer and couldn't believe Troy Murphy was drafted in round 1. Dunleavy sucks too, just a little less than Murphy.

Indiana got screwed unless they want to play walk-it-up slow-down style.

As a fantasy owner, I'm pretty happy with this trade. Now all I need is for the Pacers to move Jeff Foster...;)

Anyway, this trade looks like a contracts-for-cancers deal. The only player on either side with positive trade value is Diogu.

I think GS improves here, just because Dunleavy and Murphy weren't fitting in at all, but the real point from their side will come this summer, when they can afford to sign Andris Biedrins and Monta Ellis to huge over-market deals.

Also, it wouldn't surprise me if Jason Richardson's contract were next to be shipped.

They also tried very hard to pry him away from GS last season when they were shopping Artest.

Ike is probably going to expload in Indy. Give him that extra playing time and O'neal next to him and he should be set.

It will be interesting to see who gets the better of the deal in this trade.

Diogu and Murphy are not Nelson players, because they are not fast and need to play half court to be real effective. They will do better in Indiana. Murphy is just overpaid and gets hurt a lot.

I do not think Harrington is a team player, he likes to do his own thing. However, I think he could be better on the Warriors than Indiana because of the running and he will not control the ball like he does in the half court.

Sarunas Jasikevicius is a heck of a player and will do a lot better in Nelsons lineup.

it'll be interesting to see. What Ike showed in Oakland is he can score, and he can rebound, but he can't guard anybody. Admittedly at times he was playing C last year but even at PF he just couldn't guard.

But I think his upside is pretty good.

GSW also called up O'Bryant from the D League so I guess he may start to see some minutes now.

I just drooled on my computer....... No way it will happen but we can dream. To be honest, I'm not sure how well Ike would fit into our system. There's no doubt he has unbelievable shooting range and gets the opposition in foul trouble quick but I worry about his defense. He would have to play PF and C and would not matchup well. Some would question his running ability but that doesn't worry me at all.

He's young and talented so he could probably learn the system (I can't believe I just said an ASU guy could "learn" anything) but he would be worth trading Banks for. The worst thing that would happen is he would be riding the pine just like Banks.

Diogu will end up being a pretty decent defender.
Diogu's an abhorrent defensive player, he fouls somebody seemingly every time down the court. He's Udonis Haslem or Corliss Williamson if he ever learns how to play defense and Marcus Fizer should that concept continue to escape him.

No matter, he's a poor fit on the Suns. He's not very quick and his shooting is marginal at best. He's a post player who could probably thrive in that role offensively, but again I can't remember the last time the Suns threw the ball into a player in the post with his back to the basket.

Nellies trying to replicate the Suns in GS. Any player he casts off would probably not be a good fit.

As a Warriors Fan, I am very happy with this trade...

Mullin atones a little here for the huge idiotic contracts he gave Dunleavy and Murphy...both of those players had no heart and I am glad to see them gone.

"Joe Barry" Murphy (as I like to call him due to his horrid play, lack of hustle ,lazy approach to the game ,yet deceptively decent stats ) may put up double-double avgs, but he always grabs the cheap long, rebound and could never come up with the tough, contested, or crucial one.

Dumbleavy never lived up to his draft position or contract; every year was supposed to be "the year" his potential was to be realized. But, the only thing realized was that Dunleavy was simply an average player who was better suited coming off the bench. And I would be remiss not to mention what a momentum killer the guy was with his errant open shots, turn-overs, and bizarre defensive ineptitude.

Both Murphy and Dunleavy were absolute garbage defenders...

Harrington's and Jackson's athleticsim fits nelly's system perfectly and though Jackson is a crazy nutjob, he will thrive with "Nelly-ball" and is a much needed addition to the team with J-Rich out...

What I love about this trade: the W's at least have a shot at re-signing 2 of the 3 promising young players (Biedrins, Ellis, and Pietrus) on the team. Of those 3, I believe Ellis and Biedrins are the priority, Pietrus (yet another player W's are still waiting on to live up to his potential) is expendeble with the arrival of Jackson (assuming he does not go nuts...)

What I don't like about the trade: Getting rid of Diogu. I really think he is going to be something special, but as long as Nelson is coach, Diogu will not see that happen.

All in all, I really believe this is a great trade for both teams, and I actually think--in the long run--it may be argued that the Pacers got the better end of the deal (Diogu)

Now all Mullin needs to do is trade Foyle for Pepsi Machine and a bag of Funyuns and I will be complete.

I liked Diogu here but he's a tweener in the pros and plays no defense. I hope he's investing his money well because he'll need income soon, and since he didn't get a degree, janitorial work may be in his future.

At least Diogu has character. Murphy is a lazy turd.

Nellie and Cotton sure used to love to play small ball. As I recall Cotton used to win most of the matchups because he could play bigger small ball. :)
