A draft prospect to watch as the pre-draft process continues to unfold for the Indianapolis Colts is Oregon State offensive tackle Gerad Christian-Lichtenhan.

In an interview with Justin Melo of The Draft Network, Christian-Lichtenhan mentioned that the Colts were among a few teams that he had a "great" meeting with during the East-West Shrine Bowl.

Christian-Lichtenhan has the size and length that teams often covet at the tackle position, measuring in at 6-8 - 328 pounds with nearly 36-inch arms.

"I know there are some good and bad things that come with the size. I’m working on getting lower with more consistency," Christian-Lichtenhan told Melo. "I occasionally get a little high because my hips are so much taller than most.

"On the flip side, I have a huge advantage when it comes to my arm length. I probably have three or four inches on most pass rushers I encounter. If I get that first contact, I have three or four inches of separation before they can even get their hands on me."

After three seasons at Colorado, Christian-Lichtenhan finished his college career at Oregon State in 2024. He's played 2,211 career snaps on offense, which includes starting during the 2023 and 2024 seasons at left tackle.

During this most recent season, Christian-Lichtenhan was exceptional in pass protection, allowing only three sacks and 12 pressures while recording the seventh-best pass-blocking grade among tackles. By PFF's pass-blocking efficiency metric, he ranked 40th out of 105 offensive tackles.

In the run game, Christian-Lichtenhan ranked 21st in PFF's run-blocking grade.

With Matt Goncalves potentially making the move from tackle to guard with Will Fries in Minnesota, the Colts have to bolster their offensive tackle depth and need to find a steady swing tackle presence off the bench. Blake Freeland hasn't shown at this time that he can step into that role.

"I prefer to be utilized as an athlete in space," Christian-Lichtenhan said. "The phone booth is a little tougher when you have such long arms like I do. You almost have too much time to line up your target and use your leverage. I think I’m a great athlete when you get me in space."
