The Indianapolis Colts have made another free-agent addition to the cornerback room. The team announced on Friday that they have signed Corey Ballentine.

This is a move that provides the Colts' cornerback room with a versatile and experienced defender who can help out on special teams as well.

Ballentine was a sixth-round pick by the New York Giants in the 2019 NFL draft. He's appeared in 69 games during his six-year career with 11 starts. Ballentine has spent the last three seasons in Green Bay.

Ballentine would mostly provide the Packers' secondary with depth, but during the 2023 season, he made six starts and filled in well, allowing a completion rate of 59% at 13.7 yards per catch with an interception and four pass breakups, according to PFF. While mostly a boundary cornerback, the Packers did give Ballentine some reps in the slot as well.

Ballentine has also played 874 special teams snaps over his career, and done so across five of the six different phases.

Ballentine joins a Colts' cornerback room with Charvarius Ward, Jaylon Jones, JuJu Brents, Samuel Womack, Kenny Moore, and Alex Johnson.
