I bet we grab one or two of those guys. But the DL is a bigger problem than the OL is.

I'd take Derrick Brown or Javon Kinlaw. Both are projected mid-first DTs. Of course we should also find ways to improve the OL but it doesn't have to be all-world since KM can scramble.

Having finally some cap space and a franchise rookie qb with a fairly salary we can upgrade the offensive with a top offensive lineman free agent

Sherrif/Thuney/Cody Whitehair

First pick cee dee lamb or jeudy

Then from round 2 to round 6 just defensive players

Extend humphries drake maxx Williams

The unusual number of really bad teams will pushed the Cardinal down the draft order a bit. Two or three more wins will have them drafting around tenth. A true number one wide out or offensive tackle will be there.

Don't know if Antoine Winfield Jr. ~ Minnesota is coming out this year. But he's a very good Saftey already. Having a stellar game vs. Penn St. today.

90. Michael Pittman, WR, USC (6-4, 223, 4.55)

If this name looks familiar, it should.
Very productive tough reciever and producing despite a fighting an ankle sprain.
10 catches 100+ in the 3rd quarter vs. ASU this afternoon. Boldenesque.

Cee dee lamb 36 catches 11 tds this season
Averaging almost 23yards for catch
This guy can have a impact like julius Jones, deandre Hopkins

We dont have a truly number 1 receiver and very likely not even a number 2 receiver
Get it done for the sake of Murray and the offense

Does Simmons (#9) of Clemson, LB and safety, compare to Brian Urlacher, the former Bear great?
Probably the right way to go, but don't we have problems evaluating safety-LB tweeners like Buchannon (& I'd argue) Reddick?

Also - The cupboard seems desert-dry in ILB talent, and we need help there desperately. What do we do?

We need to upgrade 5 positions...OL, WR, ILB, OlB, and DL. We go after the best available players at any of these positions in free agency and hopefully sign 2 or 3. We go after the remaining unfilled positions in the draft. Sounds easy, but does hard.

OL, OL, OLB, S, ILB, WR...

Bakers best as slot corner, but they may utilize Alford there next season too....so?

Nope. Best available QB support position.

Possession Receiver is becoming a top need. If Fitzgerald retires, this team needs someone who can catch the ball

Partial trans. :

Alabama and LSU each have a senior cornerback worth a first-round pick, but for different reasons

With true freshman Derek Stingley having such an impressive season, LSU’s Kristian Fulton hasn’t received as much publicity. But the senior is a top-25 player on my draft board, and he showed those first-round skills against Alabama, allowing only one catch.

Fulton used fantastic technique in man coverage, using his hands to disrupt routes at the line of scrimmage and his feet to stay on top of patterns. He skillfully works his way into position without making excess contact, playing physical and disruptive. While Alabama found success when targeting Stingley, Fulton was on lockdown all game and reminded evaluators why he is a projected first-round pick and NFL starter.

The only senior cornerback ahead of Fulton on my draft board is Alabama’s Trevon Diggs, who had an up-and-down game. And I thought his performance was indicative of his overall game. On one hand, Diggs is a tremendous athletic specimen. He is an explosive, 4.4 athlete at 6-2 and 200-plus pounds, playing comfortably in press-man coverage. However, Diggs doesn’t play with any consistency with his footwork, fundamentals or body position. And most times, he gets away with it because he is a premier athlete. However, fellow athletic specimens at receiver who also understand route pacing can force Diggs to lose phase. And that is what LSU’s Ja’Marr Chase did several times throughout the game, including the first touchdown of the game when he tied Diggs in knots on the back shoulder.

While Fulton is the more heady, technically sound player, Diggs is the faster, bigger athlete with higher upside. Those two contrasting styles of play will appeal differently from team to team during the draft process, but both will be drafted very high in April.

Are these safeties really the best this draft class has to offer?
Widely considered the draft’s top two safeties at this point in the process, neither LSU’s Grant Delpit nor Alabama’s Xavier McKinney had particular stellar games.

Similar to several others in this game, McKinney had several highs and a few lows. He finished with a game-best 13 tackles, including 2.5 tackles for loss and a strip-sack of Burrow on a well-timed blitz. Against the run, McKinney was quick to trigger-and-go, showing above-average breakdown skills to make sound open-field stops. Edwards-Helaire forced a missed tackle with a spin in the backfield that resulted in a touchdown, but despite that play, McKinney was the most consistent player on defense for the Tide.

McKinney has struggled downfield. Coverage spacing was a consistent issue for him against LSU as he often found himself on his heels in reverse, allowing too much of a cushion in front of him and creating passing windows for the offense. McKinney’s performance against LSU confirmed what we already knew: he is a much better box player who needs to improve spacing issues in coverage.

As for Delpit, it has been the opposite. Although he didn’t have any pass breakups or interceptions against Alabama, his range and cover awareness took away some windows that forced Tagovailoa to look elsewhere.

However, as a tackler, Delpit had a rough night, which has been a consistent trend for him this season. He sees things well to read, react and attack, but too often, he fails to finish the tackle. Sometimes his pursuit angle is off, other times his break down or wrap technique is off-balanced. On this third-quarter Harris run, Delpit (No. 7) uses good change of direction to put himself in position to make the stop, but he throws his shoulder into the runner and barely slows him down.

I counted four missed tackles for Delpit in this game. His poor play strength and inconsistent finishing skills resulted in positive yards for the Alabama offense.

To sum it up, McKinney is the better run defender and Delpit is more reliable in coverage. A safety who can make plays in coverage is more valuable in today’s NFL, which is why Delpit remains the higher-rated safety prospect. If you combined the strengths of these two safeties, you might have a top-five pick. But it is their individual weaknesses that create concern for their next-level potential.

Another big game for Lamb on Sat. 8 catches for 167 (20.9 average), and two TDs, including an amazing 63 yard touchdown catch and run.

You another good thing about him? He blocks really well for the run game. The OU coaches seem to make that a point of emphasis for all of our WRs.

If he's there when we pick in the first round, of course I want us to pull the trigger. But, I won't be mad if we go best defensive player available.

He needs another target so bad.
Watching Mike Evans, I could not stop seeing Hakeem Butler. Now we are seeing Isabella being more of a weapon. I am not going full-stop on WR in round 1, but it is seeming like less of a priority with our desire to run the ball and if we can give Murray more protection. I watch Wilson last night and think Murray might have the weapons he needs if he is surrounded by a better defense and a better line.

I would be very happy with

Round 1 - Tristan Wirffs - OT - Iowa
Round 2 - Marvin Wilson - DT - Florida St

Resign Humphries and sign Brandon Schreff and the offensive line is good for the next 3 years.

Humphries-Schreff-Gaillard-Pugh-Wirffs is a really good line on paper.
