Really?? "If"?? Wow... Back to Back division titles. More post season wins than any other NFL team over the past 2 seasons. Yea - we're still the same 'ol Cardinals...

:mulli:

Yeah, without Warner we will be. You say Whiz turned us around but he did that with inherited talent and a HOF QB that he was smart enough to turn the reigns over to. He now has picked a guy that is Jay Schroeder bad and can't field a Defense worth anything. He has had 4 drafts now so lets see what he can do with the talent he picked. I know if he could evaluate talent we would have that pass rusher we are in dire need of but instead we cut that 2nd rd guy he picked, that 3rd round guy he picked and we have a turnstyle at tackle that he picked. We are on the downward slope and picking up speed because this guy can't get anyone good that is not past there prime or never had NFL talent to begin with. The best guys on the team were here before he arrived. I will eat the crow when HE is the reason we have won. He hasn't been and was only a small piece of that pie that DG liked to eat. Overrated to the max around here IMO.

Injuries haven't been too kind to us either.

Breaston is out
Doucet is out
Hayes is out
Dan Williams is out

Think about this: The Cards had an enormous amount of experience in 2009 that won't play this weekend. Boldin, Hayes and RWells 7 years each. Dansby and Berry 6 years, Warner,Okeafor, Rolle and Breaston 5 years. That is tough to overcome in only 4 weeks. Note that is years just with the Cards not total NFL career.

Yes this was a very experienced team. Went to a SB and won divisions. And then they didn't want to be here or were run off or traded. Figure out the reason a bunch of inherited players aren't here anymore and you might be on to something. Change happens just hard to watch when the choices that are made seem strange.

If you say Denny Green or Kurt Warner again, I will buy you a beer. ;)

The one thing that has me firmly on the darkside is the defense. I was really expecting that side of the ball to be much improved and to be the strength of the team yet they haven't played well at all.

I knew the offense wouldn't be near the same with Warner and Boldin gone, DA at QB, and a shuffled offensive line but had hoped to watch a defense like the one we had in 1994.

Dockett and Wilson extended. Rhodes added. Porter to provide a better pass rush. DWashington looking great in preseason. More discipline. But it just hasn't come together and they look as bad or worse than the last two seasons.

It ain't about them; it's about us.

Which defense will show up today - the one that put the squash on StL or the one that got blacktopped by the Falcones?

Are Anderson and his receivers (especially now the young ones) developing (as we Jews like to say) "rappaport?" Is Anderson, in fact, putting a noose on his inner desire to zing the ball?

Will Brandon K and Levi B remain awake and focused for the entire 60 minutes of the game? (When there seems to be no one around to block, will Brandon look around and find someone to block)?

Everything goes right, and we can beat these guys. If not, we'd have trouble competing against the Sisters of the Poor.

That's just the way we are.

I am the exact opposite. Only thing that has me on the DArkside is DA. I think the D will do much better when they aren't on the field the whole game.

Still feel that way? Was at a sports bar watching the game today and more than one person mentioned that they had never seen as many receivers running wide open as the Chargers guys were.

This defense is horrible. As bad as anything McGinnis ever put on the field.

Of course the offense is just as bad. Averaging 9 points per game the last 3 weeks.

No I do not feel the same, that was horrible. I can no longer stick up for this D or its "talent." Its sad, I thought that when DA was benched, I could cross back over into the koolaid territory. :(

It is really disheartening because like you I thought our D would keep us competitive even while our offense struggled but they stink from the opening snap not just when they've been on the field too long.

The most worrisome thing is how poorly DRC has played. The best thing is that Rhodes is playing great at times.

True. In fact those same folks at the bar said Toler looked like an NFL football player. But neither he nor Rhodes has been playing well consistently.
