I've only been saying we needed to sign him for 3wks now!!! Maybe Keim is secretly a ASFN member & finally listening to me ;)

The Okafor injury could be a blessing in disguise and prompting the signing... imagine if Freeney still can give some heat and then we get Okafor back, yes!

I think he does have gas left in the tank, I think I was reading earlier in the year he had like 41 pressures last year even though his sack totals were down.

All I know is he's faster & has moves than Woodley

I don't think the Okafor injury could ever be a blessing in disguise.

Freeney and Woodley as our OLB's. Ugh can you imagine that speed matching Wilsons speed in open space or trying to contain?

Freeney is not a #1 at this point in his career. There is a reason he isn't on a roster after 5 weeks into the season. He is very likely not game ready or in game shape. He is 35 years old. He at best would be a situation pass rusher. Sure we can kick the tires on him but I wouldn't get to excited. I saw Okafor make a few plays today that I was pretty impressed with. A couple tips if I remember correctly. Losing him hurts us. And hurts us in a bad way.

Why would signing a 35 year old DE solve any void we have at OLB?

i think the hope would be playing him as a hybrid, the same way we did abraham. a long shot, but so is our chance of beating GB without any semblance of a pass rush.

Yet we're still a pretty damn good team!!!

IMO Freeney is gonna take this D to a new level, plus at some point Alex will be back. Woodley has been the invisible man & never as good as Dwight.

A 35 year old player whose been on the couch is going to "take this D To a whole new level" ummm yea ok...

I know Freeney typically always lined up in a 3 point stance, but Pagano brought in a 3-4 Defense to replace the Tampa-2.

He played a mix of LB and DE in that defense before switching to OLB completely in San Diego

But irregardless you are correct. He isn't the answer no matter where he lines up

Keim is going to have to make a trade...it's time to look for someone like Cam Wake...

I know Weatherspoon wasn't even active today, but with us desperate at OLB, is there any way he gets snaps there. I know he's probably too small, but, like I said, desperate times...

Coming from someone who said #11 needed to be put in a rocking chair or sent to the glue factory because he was used up.

We'll see...if they even actually do make the move.

Right now we need an answer for the Steeler's game, it will have to be somebody on the team. With Antonio Brown back we can't afford to let the Steeler's QB have time to look down field.

What does this even mean?

He never left to begin with unless you're talking about Le'Veon coming back from suspension.

I'd like to see what Kareem Martin can do at OLB. He's a freak of nature.

GM Steve Keim said he has no updates on the injury situations with Okafor, Demens. (via @AZSports)

Remember, most injuries don't start to have telling information released until Tuesday, and teams aren't required to do an injury report until Wednesday.

I guess we will know more tomorrow. Fingers crossed. Although Demens said it was an ACL. So that just leaves us waiting on Okafor

If Okafor is out for the year or even close I would bring in Freeney. Just put him in on passing downs to keep him fresh. The dude can still be a decent pass rusher if used right. Put it this way, what player on our team can rush the passer better.
