Fans of the Black and Gold expecting RB Jaylen Warren to fill the void left by former Pittsburgh Steelers RB1 Najee Harris may be shocked to hear that insider Gerry Dulac of Pittsburgh Post-Gazette doesn’t share the same expectations.

Warren and newly signed RB Kenneth Gainwell will, of course, see more opportunities to run the football in Pittsburgh, but Dulac recently argued during Wednesday's Steelers chat that the team may not see Warren as their bell-cow back — depending on which RB they select in the 2025 NFL Draft:

“I'm not sure they view Warren as No. 1 or 1A. That will depend who they will draft. I will tell you this — RB is right behind DL in the way they will approach the draft.”

It's exciting to hear that the Pittsburgh Steelers may let the starting RB positional battle play out through offseason workouts and potentially the preseason, as replacing Harris' 1,097 carries for 4,312 yards is no easy task and should be carefully considered.

Will Warren prove Dulac wrong in his ability to spearhead the Pittsburgh Steelers’ rushing attack? Or will Gainwell and a drafted RB prospect push him down the depth chart?
