Washington Wizards: Some things may have changed in Washington over the offseason, but not all of them. "I am thrilled to be back in Washington and to return to the community that has supported me for the majority of my career," point guard Chris Whitney told the Washington Post after signing with the team for one year. "I already have a great relationship with many guys on our roster and I look forward to working in Eddie Jordan's system and being a part of the exciting things happening here in D.C." Whitney is the franchise's all-time leader in 3-pointers made (481) and free-throw percentage (87.8 percent).
Sura
Detroit Pistons: Bobby Sura has seen how the other half lives while playing for Golden State. Now, he's looking forward to seeing how a team that had the best record in its conference lives. "I feel I'll be his type of guy," Sura said to the Detroit News. "Tough-minded, good on the defensive end and able to bring a lot of energy. I'm certainly excited about being here in Detroit with the way the team has gone the past few years with the playoff runs and with Larry Brown coming in this year. ... It's going to be a good situation. I haven't been on a winning team for a few years."
Orlando Magic: First, Dirk Nowitzki rolls and ankle. Then Tracy McGrady aggravates his lower back, which has bothered him his entire career and has to sit out a game. Can anyone stop the madness? "With Tracy, it's really up to him," Magic GM John Gabriel said to the Philadelphia Daily News. "We also expect that he knows his body; this injury is not new to him. This is an old, pre-existing circumstance. Because of that, he needs to take precautionary measures to make sure he feels right."
