It's still ON the air?

I'm not being sarcastic; I really had no idea.

But then again, I haven't seen HBO in about 20 years.

HBO and the NFL both admitted that the show had run its course and didnt have much place in today's 24x7x365 media world. I am guessing cost and viewership where issues as well.

I didn't know it was owned by NFL films but I assumed that the root cause was to drive us to the NFL network.

What worries me is that since the recent change the coverage has truly sucked. The first exhibit for the prosecution being the gutting of Primetime and nothing to [worthwhile] replace it.

Now INFL is gone and we could be left with the pathetic shows we had this year.

i personally think that inside the NFL has been bad for a long time

i used to love this program - could see crisp NFL films highlights, sideline clips, etc from every game - some good analysis and expert picks - even threw in the occasional story on a player or situation

then they started to cut down on highlights - some games didn't even receive treatment - interviews became more over the top, the analysis was less than what we were getting on other networks and I no longer needed to turn to HBO

i used to go out of my way to watch it - now if i stumble onto the program i'm hard pressed to keep the channel there

Hmmm, wasn't there a movie with almost the same name---"Inside Jenna Jameson" or something like that?;)

I think they lost a big chunk of their audience when they went to this years format of only focusing on teams with a winning record. They would do 10 minute segments just on one particular team or player instead of showing all the teams around the NFL. I hardly watched it this year because they hardly ever had anything about the Cards on there.

They announced that new policy at the start of the 06 season with some crappy remark about how Cleveland would just have to play better. Myself, I was done with that show at that exact moment, and I'd bet that they lost the entire Cleveland market with that joke as well. Totally boneheaded. I take satisfaction that it worked out so well for them. Morons.

I agree they used to let the games speak for themselves, turned in to an opinion show with heartwarming stories.
