What's everyone's thoughts on the instant replay in baseball now?
I like the fact that they can look at a call and get it right, but it seems like it won't work. Example-
Bruce Bochcy went out and argued a few times yesterday about a call. Then was going to challenge the call, but looked at his bench coach and the bench coach was shaking his head as if to not to challenge (still kind of lost in the amount of challenges a coach can get). This happened 2 more times and finally on a pick off play, he decided to challenge. He lost the challenge, so that left him with no more challenges (I guess). Later on in the game, there was a play at the plate and the runner was safe on a call that could have been challenged and won by the Giants (glad they didn't). This gave the Dbacks the win. Correct me if i'm wrong on the play by play stuff. I heard it on the radio because I didn't get a chance to see the game.
So, I think if a coach goes out to argue a call, then it should be considered a challenge by the coach. With all computer and tv stuff, teams can look at the replay a few times while the coach is out there and decide if they should challenge. Again, I am unfamiliar with the new rule so it could be something like this in it.
I like the replay. Just think it needs to iron out a few items and this first month should help get those things figured out, IMO
