Inter hold positive Guler talks as Paz deal with Real Madrid remains uncertain

Inter have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Arda Güler by holding preliminary talks with his agents, as the Turkish midfielder is one of two Real Madrid-linked targets the Nerazzurri are eyeing for next summer, alongside Como’s Nico Paz—a more complex deal to finalise.

Multiple reports emerged in recent weeks that have linked Paz with a move to the Nerazzurri after his impressive performances in Serie A this season prompted the club to study a plan to secure the Argentina international.

However, Real Madrid retain a buyback clause for Paz, allowing them to reacquire the midfielder next summer for €9m. This clause makes a potential transfer more intricate, requiring Inter to negotiate terms straightly with Los Blancos, especially given Como’s reluctance to sell the youngster after just one season.

While the Nerazzurri continue to explore both options, Corriere dello Sport reports that they have recently reached out to Güler’s representatives to assess his availability for a summer move to San Siro, receiving encouraging feedback from the player’s camp.

Inter believe they may have a slight edge over other suitors thanks to Hakan Calhanoglu, the captain of the Türkiye national team, who could play a key role in persuading the talented midfielder to choose Simone Inzaghi’s side.

However, the Biscione would still need to reach an agreement with Real Madrid, who are unlikely to relinquish full control of the player. As a result, Los Blancos may favor a loan move or a deal that includes a future buyback clause—similar to the arrangement they made for Nico Paz.
