Watching the Arizona Sports report and Gambo reports that all deals for TMac are dead (including Houston). The Magic will listen to trade offers after the draft tomorrow.

Suns are still very much in it if true

Gambo is the scariest man I have ever seen.

He also said there are "a lot" of good free agents out there if they don't get Kobe. I don't think I believe Gambo's reports.

It's nice that Phoenix has its own answer to Peter Vecsey. At least they don't fall behind New York in the BS wars.

If we spend 10 million on Nash, I will puke. If we spend all of our free agent money on long term deals for Nash and Okur, I will cry every game.

Thats why said If True. I actually think he will be right on this one, though.

It would be smart of the Magic to have all trade proposals start over from scratch. They could actually get more that way

Well I would bet that Gambo is Chad Ford's "suns source". That would explain why Ford said his source didn't say the deal was dead just that there was no active talk right now.

Orlando might have very well decided that it ges all too crazy now and they still have decisions to make about the #1 pick that they put the TMac trades aside since almost all include BYC players anyway.

More good news. BC is convinced that we should let our young core "grow together" and he doesn't want to be "bogged down" with max contracts. Yeah, it would be pretty stupid to give somebody like Kobe or Tracy a max contract. As much as I hate to believe it, it seems more and more like the Suns and D-backs don't care about winning anymore. By getting rid of Schilling and Batista, the D-backs condemned themselves to mediocrity; by sticking with the current roster, and not adding a major piece, I fear the Suns are headed down the same path. It's pretty pathetic when the Cardinals are the most to look forward for an Arizona fan.

I think it's probably other way around. John Gambadoro probably just read Chad Ford's article on ESPN.com. I can tell you how many times I have heard Gambo and Ash recite ESPN Insider articles almost word for word like they have some special source in the NBA.

gambo talked about this exact trade with chicago yesterday. he does have some sources within the organization, he's been pretty good at getting stories out before they happen.

If you want Tracy McGrady to the Phoenix Suns this deal that was just made with the draft pick actually helps. Apparently the Orlando Magic decided they were not going to make the deal before the draft and shut things down. Now they would include the Chicago pick and possibly the cash in the deal instead of this year's #7 draft pick.

You should point out that this was taken from the ESPN message board.

I've read that on the ESPN message board too. I'll watch it, and to you exactly what he said. I probably won't be able to get back to the computer until early in the morning though. I try my hardest. :)

That is an interesting thought--but it might as well still be Marion/JJ/#7 for Tmac. What makes this new possibility any better?

oh, I'm not saying it changes the deal necessarily. I'm saying that because Orlando decided they would not deal before the draft the Suns might have had trouble staying in negotiations without the #7 draft pick (already spent). Now they have the future Chicago pick to include in a deal.

I still do not really want them to make this deal for McGrady.

I wouldn't trust the Best Damn Sports Show--Jerry Stackhouse is one of the guest hosts--doesn't seem like he knows he was traded...

Why are sharkbite and azprepstars not posting here? They are really good posters.

I have invited both of them. I would really like to get azprepstars over here. He gave me his e-mail address recently, so I will ask again soon.

Was Vecsey the guy who wrote that long story on Amare last year? If so, he may actually have talked to him.

Vescey’s credibility is low. ESPN’s message board’s credibility is darn close to zero. The credibility of this story is the product of Vescey’s credibility and the credibility of ESPN’s message board.

Why are we even discussing it?

I think that there could be a factor in all this "Orlando halting talk" thing that we aren't considering: sleep. When the general manager was being interviewed last night he mentioned cell phone minutes being used at three a.m. I think there is probably a good chance that he's gotten little or no sleep for the past few days and could just be spent. Also, on that little sleep he could make a trade he would regret eight hours of pillow time later. Dunno. Just a thought.
