NFL.com has a cool video with the PFF guys comparing the top 3 receivers (Jeudy, Lamb, Ruggs). The comparison between Jerry Jeudy and CeeDee Lamb tips the scale in favor of Jeudy because of a stat called contested catch percentage. Jeudy dwarfs Lamb with only 8% of his catches being contested vs Lamb’s 20%. Basically that means that Lamb may have more wow catches simply because Jeudy is far superior in winning at the line of scrimmage and getting separation. This leads to Henry Ruggs. PFF considers Ruggs to be the top receiver for 2 reasons. #1-Ruggs got much of his production from playing the outside receiver position which is considered more valuable than playing from the slot. #2-The most important variable that separates Ruggs from Lamb and Jeudy is “athleticism”. Basically that means being superior athletically to your opponents. Lamb ranked at the 80th percentile, Jeudy in the high 80’s, and Ruggs an astounding 98th percentile. Ruggs athleticism percentile is on par with Tyreek Hill.

Ruggs is trash. Watch Ruggs and Lamb play, 100% of objective viewers will see Lamb as the better football player.

PFF had Isabella as their top rated college receiver in the country last season. Had him as the 4th best WR in last year's draft class. We still care what they say?

Trash?? That is entirely too harsh and ridiculously untrue. So Ruggs isn’t your guy, that is fine. Calling Ruggs trash is just just idiotic.

Somebody should have told Saban because he allowed Jeudy to get nearly twice as many receptions as Ruggs and 50% more yardage.
I think Jeudy is really good and clearly more advanced (especially earlier in their careers)

However, you can look at the difference between Parris Campbell and Terry McLaurin last year. Campbell was the one who put up big #s at OSU, was drafted 1st, etc. Yet it was McLaurin who looks like the better pro.

I think Ruggs will be a great deep threat if he goes to the right team. However, Jeudy probably works for any team.

Saying Ruggs is trash is hyperbole, but I would much rather have Jeudy or Lamb if we go WR which I have nothing against at all. I might want Jeudy more but Lamb might have elite hands... still can not help if the OL is decent to see a defense have to game plan against Kyler with these stacked WRs which no secondary in the NFL has enough to address lol

Ruggs is absolutely trash. Won't be a top 5 receiver in this draft.

I get the feeling that Ruggs will be the next DHB.

I don't know much about football, other than I think my team is great. But one thing I did pick up over the years is that it's not what you did in college that counts the most, it's what you're going to do in the NFL. College play does give a lot of clues, but not all the clues.

PFF would have given Jerry Rice a 3rd round grade.

Hindsight is 20/20

Rice not the biggest def not the fastest and that’s why he wasn’t highly recruited and that’s why he went we’re he went.

but what he did have was an almost an insane drive to be better than anyone

Ruggs is a freak athlete...there is no doubt. His speed and leaping ability are an incredible combination.

If the Cards take him, I will be fine with it because as Wolf keeps talking about, he might be the most impactful player for the offense right away. It would mean KK, KM, and SK see Ruggs as a missing piece type player to take the offense into elite status. If thats the reasoning, then I'm ok with it, because I think Ruggs is going to be a good NFL WR.
