Did anybody else switch over to NBATV after the game? They showed the entire post game press confrence. In the Kobe segment somebody asked him about the shot at the end of regulation and he said that for just a split second he didn't remember who was gaurding him (Shawn). He then said he turned around realized because of Shawn's athletic ability and long arms, he was'nt unable to use the move he wanted to thus the air ball... But this got me thinking....If thats the case wouldn't it be a smart idea to run different players at him through out the game just to keep him "guessing" or atleast get him to think about one more thing?! Anyhow, first post of the series, I was trying to wait until the first round was over but oh well.

I really want to say that sounds like BS to not know who was guarding him....but maybe he's telling the truth.

I think he's telling the truth. Why? Look at one of the very first plays that Kobe ran in OT. He literally just dribbled right by Marion for a layup. If Kobe recognized it earlier, he would have been at the rack, for an easy two.

Instead, he took an ill advised jump shot against Marion.

I don't think it would have been reasonably possible for Kobe to drive to the basket. As I recall the play, Marion played Kobe to the right side slightly forcing Kobe to drive to the left and into a double team with Steve Nash waiting (and Marion moving with him).

Initially, I thought it was strange to see Shawn's body slightly angled towards the right side. Then when Kobe drove left into a double team the answer became clear.

I can't remember how much time was left on the clock but it couldn't have been much.
