IPOD Touch Issue

My IPOD Touch has started cutting in and out on the right channel. If I wiggle the headphones around I am able to get sound in both, but I have to kind of hold it there. There is a lot of play with the headphones in the jack.

It's over a year old so out of warranty, however I have heard Apple may replace an Ipod if it has a manufacturing defeat. Has anyone dealt with Apple on an after warranty issue?

I paid like $300 bucks for it and they want $250 to fix it, according to Apple's website. There are some online companies that will fix it, but this one company told me the headphone jack on the 1st generation Touch is a tricky replacement

What a jip... Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated

Yeah, we have 3 Ipods and all the headphones work except on mine. I even tried 3rd party head phones

Over the years I've had hard drives fail on the Ipod 80 gig units after warranty.
I would bring them into the Apple store and for like fifty bucks they would replace it. They had major issues with hard drives for a while.
I would bring it into a store. You've got nothing to lose.
BTW, make an appointment online for the store nearest to you. It will save you a whole lot of waiting time.

Thanks! I didn't know you could make an appointment. Maybe I'll send my wife, she's ruthless, where I am a pushover. I'm the cheapest man on the planet, but I fall for every upsale anybody offers me. Except those crappy warranties that places like Best Buy offer

I could always bring my youngest son and pull the "crying kid" thing, where they will do anything to just make you go away. I discovered this secret power while trying to return something at Target, an opened item and no receipt. They are like return Nazi's, but once my son turned on the water works out of hunger, they credited me pronto.

Yeah, Apple SUCKS. My wife had one of these and it quit working after a month. I bought it at Costco so I just took it back. My sister has a Macbook that I have to fix for her every month or two. I researched and found out that over half of the model she has were shipped with bad hard drives.

I want to punch that Mac guy in the face. I'm a PC!!!
