I'm sorry, no matter how much the the talent in the NBA is overexaggerated, I will NEVER root against this country.

They could roll out 5 Karl Malone's and I would still be 100% behind them.

You know fly guy, I've thought about this and wondered if I'm wrong hoping they lose. I don't think so. Here's why.

I've always felt the Olympic teams that go to represent the US are there to represent me. They're there to be at that opening for me. They play their sport like I would want to if I had their ability. They get to stand on that platform and represent me. The problem is, too many of them don't act like I would want to act. They don't have the respect for the event like I do. They don't see the honor in representing 280 million of me. They act bored. Or disrespectful. They don't see the sacrifices that many make and never get the opportunity to compete on this stage.

I look at these Dream Teams and I don't see how they represent me. I look at some of the other teams they are competing against and I feel they have more in common with me than the US team does. It's not just the fact that they make buckets of money. It's that they don't really represent me in the way I would hope I would represent them.

The World Championships were a blip on the radar screen. The Olympics are a techicolor embarrassment for all the world to see and the NBA is officially the butt of every joke.

Actually, from everything I have read, the rest of the world values the WC a lot more than the Olympics. Supposedly the US and everyone else has complete opposite views on the importance of both games.

I knew they took the WC more seriously than we do, but I didn't realize it was that serious.

I learned something today.

This team is made up of a bunch of go to guys, who never do the little crap it takes to win. there the pampered scorers from there team that are not used to busting ass on D, setting picks, diving for the ball, rebounding and boxing out. Thats why the fundemental guys like Marion and Duncan look good and the ball hog primadonnas look like crap. I would rather see a team like the Pistons play against the world then these guys. Atleast the Pistons would have defined role players and have a team concept. This team plays sloppy and does none of the little things it takes to win.

no problem. :)

BTW I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm getting kind of tired of hearing Larry Brown, Allen Iverson, the media, and others blame this team's problems on a lack of effort. I'm especially sick of hearing these guys saying they needed a "wakeup call". IMO the reason we keep hearing this is that it's easier to say than "we just lack the fundamental basketball skills to compete with these other teams."
