BA has nothing to brag about , his boisterous ragging on his own players, was based on performance and potential. I think he is acting appropriate and also believe he can coach this team if his health holds up. But must have a paridigm shift like Belicheck does routinely. Don’t know if the QB whisper will do that, building around DJ is the answer, BA is the question? He has the ability - will see if BA has the response - ability

BA doesn't even go after the officials like he once did. The fire seems to be dimming. He did a great job with the Cardinals. Also don't believe he will be back.

In all fairness, he had to stop, because the more he bitched, the more yellow flags hit the ground. That's the truth.

He should be done...especially if he refuses to make changes to his staff.

The first red flag for me was about a week to 10 days ago when he mentioned David Johnson was likely going to be out for the year even though nothing has changed in regards to his recovery.

The first red flag for me was when he called AMos an 'Excellent' coach, I guess we were stuck with a bunch of bums on ST (threw you under the bus there, Keim).

The man was done a long time ago. Just send him off to his houseboat full of beverages. Please.

I think they are actually going to give it one more try next year with CP, fitz and AD.

Please, GOD, no !!!.. Where are the lightening bolts when you need them ?
(at least if you mean CP, Fitz, AD AND Arians. You do realize Arians said he would NEVER, NEVER fire a coach, right ? SO one more try means Bettchers constantly adjusting and crushing defense, Amos's outstanding Special Teams... hey, we are in the top 32, Gooody;s amzingly effective and well coached O-line, and on and on. That's what you get if Arians is back. GAG !)

There was nothing to indicate that it needed a rebuild in the offseason. You had a franchise QB under center, the best RB in the league, a strong WR corp, and an abundance of talent on defense. If BA, Fitz, and Palmer retire, then yes, a 1-2 year rebuild will be in the works.

See, the problem is that I certainly didn't (and still don't) see Palmer as a franchise QB, didn't (and still don't) see us as having a strong WR corps), and didn't (and still don't) see enough talent on defense. Many on this board were quoted as thinking it was stupid trying to make a patchwork super bowl run this season. It's not like no one saw this coming.

And you do realize that BA doesn't hold all the power to his staff? He said he would never fire a coach doesn't mean they're not going to get fired.

Apologize if I take most people's opinions on here with a grain of salt, but several people on here have a defeatist mentality and shouldn't be taken seriously. Many outside of Cardinal land felt that Arizona had one more year because of the level of talent on both sides of the ball, and when you have talent at key positions, and can legitimately contend for the playoffs, you go for it. It's a loser's mentality to go fetal when presented with the slightest bit of adversity. If Palmer were healthy, we beat Seattle, go 5-4, and later play a bunch of teams with subaverage quarterbacks.

The Atlanta Falcons are 5-4 and some felt that the Super Bowl hangover from blowing a 25 point lead would be too much for them. Should Atlanta blow it up?

For about 2-3 years, 2018-2019 were thought to have been the years of the rebuild; the years in which the team goes 4-12, restock the shelves with high draft picks, and contend again in 2020.

I'm just saying that I figured this season wasn't going anywhere--and it hasn't, and won't, and wouldn't have with a healthy Palmer either IMO; let's be realistic--and deciding to make a run with a roster that certainly wasn't up for it set us back a season. You can keep saying that we had a roster to make a run, but that doesn't make it true. Even the team was admitting that it wasn't an all-in season. They got rid of a lot of talent while not pushing in the chips by bolstering the roster through all possible means. Even they knew, and likely were just hoping we could get hot and compete for a Super Bowl.

You can try this revisionist history that there was no possible way people could see this coming, but I did, and others did. Just because you didn't take those opinions seriously over the offseason doesn't make them wrong now; it simply means you were wrong then.

Helluva OC, in his heyday.... but not sure he is/was HC material. Relies on his pathetic staff way too much. If he turned play calling over to an OC and managed the entire game more I would be satisfied he could succeed health permitting.

How was the team admitting that it wasn't "all-in?" Shoot, trading for AD after DJ went down is sole proof that the team felt it was still a contender. When you're entering the season with a Top-12 QB, the best RB in the NFL, a good WR corp, and a Top-5 defense, you don't quit before Week 1. Christ, if Keim and BA declared that this was a rebuild year, I would've asked for their head, as would you. Judging from your posts, you would be asking for a rebuild in all but two seasons in this franchise's entire history.

You may have had reservations entering the season, and I can understand that; but even with the current record, which is 4-5 with QB1 and RB1 out, that neither justifies nor validates your evaluation entering the season. Even if you have a slight chance at the playoffs, you go for it. There are only about 4 teams per season that should admit to being in rebuild mode. Arizona will be in that position next season.

And no, I'm not "simply wrong." There is nothing wrong with saying that this team should go for it given the talent on the team. There is something difficult for me to accept seeing fans be overly pessimistic year in and year out; to which I ask: Why bother watching?

Uh... he was a great OC, so he should turn over the OC duties... and he relies on his staff too much, so he should turn over more responsibility to his staff?

And you do realize that if MB/SK fire a bunch of his coaches, he's going to quit ? I mean, he is the Head Coach, but demonstrably unable to surround him self with an able supporting cast. So who picks the new replacement coaches ? MB/SK ? and BA is going to take that humiliation ? Won't happen. If they go, he goes... which is absolutely fine with me.

We had a strong WR core?! Don't have to be a defeatist to find that comment baseless in fact. And the comment that "many were saying the Cardinals had one more run in them" sounds like a statement Trump would make. I don't remember seeing many (if any) people in the national media believing we were any type of contender... or even playoff pretender. Sure, the Cardinals themselves said as much, but I'd love to see the "many" people mentioned.

As to people believing the D would be really good, I recall most stories about us in the offseason questioning how big the dropoff would be losing CC and Jefferson.

Lot of revisionist history here about what the outlook of this team was gonna be going into the season, IMO.

I am a big BA fan and have to admit I will miss him if he leaves.

That said, I have noticed it seems the fire has 'gone out' a little for him the last couple weeks. Either he is ready to retire, or simply recognizes this is not a team built for a playoff run and will retool in the offseason (somehow?)

This is the same supporting cast we had in 2013,2014, & 2015.

No. This offensive line literally only has ONE starter from 2013, 2014, 2015.

The WR core is atrocious compared to having healthy Fitz, John Brown and Floyd.

The core/most important player on the D-line is gone with CC. There has been massive turnover in the secondary which was a massive strength and now only has PP.

The supporting cast that we still have is Fitz, Palmer, PP, DJ and that is pretty much it from 2013-15.

thats how you avoid having to buy out his contract...if he quits he voids it

if i recall... most of the outlook around here stemmed from the phrase, "Why the **** aint they DOING anything?"

All that does not matter, IMO. I just merely stated the fact that he doesn't have to fire nobody, he doesn't hold the cards. If he quits he doesn't get paid, and IMO that is better then getting fired from the Cards point of view. One is not exclusive to the other.

There were many people that had the Cards as playoff contenders prior to the season. The division was basically considered a 2 team race. I remember when NFL network went game by game through the Cards schedule, the worst prediction of the panel was 10-6, best was 12-4. There were questions about the loss of talent on the defense, no question about that.

And, really, pre-season predictions, as the Cards case demonstrates, mean nothing. Most "pundits" had Dallas winning the NFC and playing GB in the NFC championship. Both will likely miss the playoffs as, like the Cards, their season has been marred by star players being out of action. Who had the Rams and Saints at 7-2?

I think people forget how big a loss David Johnson was. He was at/near the top of the candidate list for MVP of the league and he played about 2/3 of a game. He was the focal point of the offense. Look how putrid Dallas looked last week without Elliott and their starting LT. The Cards have played almost their entire season without those 2 positions. Look at GB after Rodgers went down. Rodgers is better than Palmer but CP was as also very important to the Cards offense.

If you don't think the Cards would have been a MUCH better team with a healthy CP, Johnson, Humphries, Golden, and to a lesser extent John Brown et al, then I don't know what to say. That's Trump level deniability.

But the injuries did happen and they now stink. That's part of the NFL.
