That makes more sense.

I am not sure where the Cardinals were going to go to fill the hole he would leave in this defense.

His cap number is not a problem, until it becomes one.

I think the problem with Campbell is he plays at the level of the other players around him. When he had Dockett playing next to him he upped his game and has the talent to do so. Now that he has guys who are good solid players but not the likes of Dockett he plays at their level and not at the level of his ability. I think BA wants him to play at the level of his ability and he doesn't do that. For $15M a year he needs to play at the level of his ability and he is not doing that.

$15m is his CAP hit.

He's being paid just over $9m.

My sense, given that the initial speculation came out of Miami, was that it was his agent who was in fact "shopping him". Trying to create a market as they negotiated a new deal.

I wonder if it was the Cardinals that put the rumor out to scare him into negotiating.

Kind of a "oh man, they could trade me to the browns!" kinda moment for Calais.

CC is an animal...he's a leader and a great player who demands double teams every play.
Some of you must not actually watch the game other than the ball. CC is doubled EVERY play and he still produces. The line has been a top 10 vs. the run year after year with him in there....and you say 'let him go.'
FOOLS....Lots and lot's of FOOLS in here

Good D lineman like him don't grow on trees

He's a one man front

Who else on the D line does any coordinator spend 30 seconds on other than CC?

Dwight Freeney added some rock and roll, but he's situational

CC is doubled every play...not sure what anyone can do vs. that

I love CC but elite DE can split double teams more often

Agree .. rumors to gain leverage.

Only helps the Cardinals 'cause I don't think anyone will give him more than AZ and that would help with restructuring his contract.

While I agree, the Cards D get worse trading Calais with the current group of Dlineman we have. I think it's hogwash they're shopping him.
