The OP was an overreaction. It's enough that he's a really, really exceptional player.

On Baker — it's like a low-amplitude problem with Deone Bucannon. Baker could be a really good nickel corner and an average to above-average safety. I think he struggles with the bigger WR matchups on the inside that are becoming more popular.

But.

He's being asked to play linebacker, or a version of linebacker, by this coaching staff. He can't succeed that way. He's not big enough or strong enough. He can blitz, which is why you want him in there, but he can't really go through anyone. He's not really being placed in a position to succeed.

No, but he is the most valuable player on this team. It's fun to watch him play too, so there is that as well.

The man has 32 sacks since joining the cardinals. He was signed to do just that & has most in the league in that period. nothing more can be said imho

A one man wrecking crew week after week under idiocracy. Also switched to a new scheme which is being botched. I get that Donald is better, but under the circumstances, CJ is the NFL defensive MVP thus far. Even Wilks couldn’t stop him

Aaron Donald - and it's not even close

Luke Kuechly - 2nd

K. Mack - 3rd

Von Miller - 4th

Casey Hayward - 5th

Bobby Wagner - 6th

Cameron Jordan - 7th

Joey Bosa - 8th

Jalen Ramsey - 9th

Landon Collins - 10th

Calais Campbell - 11th

Earl Thomas - 12th

Kwan Short

Brandon Ghram, Fletcher Cox and Chris Harris Jr

All rank higher

But Chandler Jones is DAMN GOOD! ...but he's not at the top of the defensive players

Kawann Short & Landon Collins? Hell no.

Keuchly really hasn’t been good this year. After Donald, Von, & Mack, it’s arguable.

DV - like your enthusiasm, but get real. All of the players I ranked ...if there was a draft of D players almost all would go ahead of Chandler...and don't get me wrong I'm a HUGE HUGE Fan of Chandler...along with PP he's the best we got.
Problem here he's not a top 10 defensive player in the league....in AZ yes...not in the 32 NFL.
Shoot he may not even be the 3rd best DE Cameron Jordan and Bosa being 1 and 2 without question...then Jones comes into the conversation.
Best overall Defensive player ....get real....that's homer conversation coming out.

and I didn't even have JJ Watt on my list...add him too

If you consider his supporting cast, and horrible coaching.... CJ is by far the best defensive player in the league right now IMO.
