Am I the only one here seeing similarities between how the Suns are being run right now and how the Cardinals were being run in years past?

1. Ownership more concerned with dollars than putting together the best squad possible?

2. Grossly overpaying for players that once were great but seem to come to AZ to collect a few more paychecks before retiring ala Emmit Smith?

I might just be acting stupid right now but the similarities are starting to show. Is it possible that just as the Cards are seemingly turning a corner, while the Suns are regressing? It might be meaningless but it's my two cents.

It's just you. The Cardinals would be very happy to have to suffer through the indignity of a second round playoff loss like the Suns have to.

But win/loss and playoff appearances weren't exactly my point. The point I was making was the ineptitude of the front office that has plagued the Cards in the past now seems to have passed on to the Suns.

I don't believe signing Emmitt was inept. Prior to Edge he was the best back to wear a Cardinal uniform in a long time. He helped move the franchise into the modern era.

It remains to be see if Shaq is a bad move.

The moves aren't even really a parallel because the Cardinals wanted Emmitt to be the man. Meanwhile Shaq is just regarded as the missing piece.

Moss to New England might be a better analogy. Widely thought to be washed up and then moved to a respectable franchise. Meanwhile the media widely criticizes the franchise and the player.

We can only hope that the outcome is similar. With the exception that we are actually able to win the title.
