or does it seem like every QB we have had has regressed (with the exception of Warner) the longer they play here? It seems like Leinart was fairly decent when he first started and then got worse the longer he played. Seems like Skelton was the same way.

Who handles the QB's? Is there a problem in that area? Is it going to ruin a good QB if we finally get one in here? Maybe this is the first place that needs to be addressed.

Skelton has this year for sure. Kolb seemed to be getting it before he got injured. He was hanging tougher in the pocket and not turning the ball over.

But if you want real regression - see the NYJ and Sanchez. That's a franchise QB regression baby!

McNulty is the QB coach this year.

Miller was the passing game coordinator previous two years, aka the QB coach I think, not completely sure.

Leinart stopped trying to get better and even then his fragility would always not allow him to succeed. Skelton, Lindley, and Max Hall never had talent nor ever will. Kolb has always been mediocre even under Reid and can't stay healthy. The league figured out Derek Anderson long before he came to the Cardinals.

It's not the system or coaching that's in question, Warner's improvement vs Denny and Roethlisberger's development prove that. It's the QB's Whiz chose here that will get him fired in a few weeks.

100% revisionist history on Kolb, he looked terrible for good chunks of the Miami game and pretty much all of the Rams and Buffalo games. Didn't exactly set the world on fire in New England either. The Philly game is the only time he looked like a quality NFL QB.

Sanchez has never been that good but he's also hurt by the worst WR corp in the NFL.

if I remember correctly, Kolb was still in the top half of QBs at like week 5. He had protections through the first 3 games and looked good. Could have been better in NE, but he didn't turn it over, had a decent comp %, and helped secure a W in Foxborough. Something that is extremely hard to do. Then he smoked Philly. Then he started getting his ass kicked. He led the league in sacks like 3 weeks after getting hurt. It's pathetic

Skelton wasn't all that good last year either but the Cards managed to pull out some wins. Thus, the false promise. I don't think the QB's regressed as much as, the more they played, they played to their level, which is not very good.

It ain't you 40.

I agree. It's not just you 40. Every post on here shows that while even if they all didn't regress none of them got any better. To say it was only talent level means coaching has no effect at all and I don't know if I can buy that. The problem with our lesser talents is that they couldn't play well enough to leave in the starters role long enough to see if they could be coached up. Remember even though Warner was putting up decent numbers with Denny it wasn't until he became the full time #1 that the HOF level stats and wins started.

In truth it wasn't CKW that got the Cards to the SB. It was Leinarts collar bone. :D

It is the lack of an offensive line.

When you get hit, you regress; that was true for Warner as well.

In that case, wouldn't you put a FB or TE back there to help the QB and wouldn't you have the QB take short drops and throw quick passes?

You could add running backs to your comment also. They start off with all the potential in the world, blow out a knee or need knee surgery from some college injury and we start the search all over again.
