Most of the guys that post on azcardinals.com complete tools? i've never registered on that site due to their email rules but have followed it for like 5-6 years now and I have to say, I can't stand 90% of the guys on that board. Poking fun at Hall hoping he gets cut (dude has a family to feed), whining about multiple threads constantly. The douchebaggery on that board runs deep.

Man, I don't know what it is but like I mentioned before, I had been a viewer and a non-poster on that site for like 5 years now. All I see now is a bunch of tools that will flame you when you post, complain about multiple posts and tattle tell. They started a whole thread on mocking Max Hall about how he should be cut and how bad he sucked etc. That's fine, I'm sure a lot of guys want to see Max get cut, but the dudes got a family to feed, and I thought going out of your way to make a post centered around Max (after he made the game winning drive) was a little distasteful. There are a few cool guys on there, but the majority are awful.

Max still sucks, but yeah he deserved his moment in the sun.

Just like after he managed to win the game without an offensive td last year.

It's probably fear that he'll make the team again, or something like that, which had people going. But then again, I doubt he logged on and saw that, and what people think or say...doesn't change anything.

So while tasteless, it's not really a big deal either.

Most boards have developed a secret handshake style mantra, and if you don't adhere to it, or do everything correctly by that secret handshake, then you are unworthy, and deserve to be lambasted.

x1 million blogs covering everything. People who believe they have to create their own little asinine rules of sophistry are idiots who almost deserve to be subjugated. Almost.

Personally I think it's quite pathetic. This is the best. So why even try the rest?

I started out on the Cards board a few years ago. In one flame war, someone said something along the lines of:

"If you think this is bad, go to ASFN and see how they treat you. You won't last 5 minutes over there."

So naturally I googled ASFN, got hooked, and never went back to the other board.

Have you checked out the posters at azcentral who post comments after Cardinals and other sports articles? IMO, many of these posters are terrible. I stick with my sports talk at ASFN where at least posters have a track record and things usually even out. I stay away from forums that I find distasteful. Perhaps you should too.

I got my first computer 6 years ago and I could barely type, one of the first things I did was search "arizona sports" ASFN came, I followed for a year before signing up. went to az cards board at the same time but I never liked it and have zero post in 6 years.

I post on the AZ central boards frequently under the handle "Rockpaperdynamite". But yeah I have to admit this board in 10x better than azcardinals.com, just my observation as someone who has been following that site for 5-6 years now, actually I want to say more of the lines of 8-9 years as I swear I used to go on that board when I lived in Flag back in 02-03'.

Main board posters have not embraced the darksider/koolaide dichotomy that comes with being a cardinals fan like AZFN has leading to an adversarial undercurrent and pervasive rock throwing between the two sides.

Yeah that's always the problem with making a general statement about some other board - someone takes offense. As for the "pervasive rock throwing", that's at least as overstated and inaccurate as the OP's original comment. There's a little of it and there is the occasional "adversarial undercurrent" but it hardly sums up this forum.

LOL
Very first thread I looked at over there. Took 0 effort to find a good rock throwing thread.

we come here for a reason.

Yes we do. For the most part we're civilized Message Board Obsessed Die Hard Cardinal fans and this place is full of up to the minute news and interesting discussions.

Those that have to be rude, obnoxious or condescending are easily placed on ignore.

Let's see that reminds me I need to go to the user CP and get rid of Cardinals Ken. :p

Except I wasnt talking about this forum in the manner you chose to infer. I was saying that the vast majority of AZFN members have recognized darksiders/koolaiders are two sides of the same coin (good) whereas a higher percentage of official board posters have more of a scorched earth youre for us or against us approach.(bad)

I wasn't taking offense, just giving an observation

I didn't choose to infer. Re-read your post. Regardless of what you intended to say, the obvious conclusion (perhaps the only grammatically justifiable conclusion) is the one I came to. I'm sorry if I missed your meaning but you really should acknowledge your role in that process.

Well then, I'll try to clarify

Main board posters (official board) have not embraced the darksider/koolaide dichotomy that comes with being a cardinals fan like AZFN has leading to an adversarial undercurrent and pervasive rock throwing between the two sides(between darksiders and koolaiders on the official board)

Am I now absolved of my grammatical slight? ;)

THIS ONE IS FOR YOU KOC. TIM WE DID IT.
I started out on that board in 2001 and when Lisa Manning was running it it was actually fun. Me gee, koc, bleedingred. Diehard all used to talk for hours, then they changed it and with the change it just went downhill. I like it here and haven't even posted 100x on that board since 04

I had over 1000 posts on that board, but the Warner/Leinart debates were too grating. The mods even shut the boards down for a day when Warner visited the 49ers, due to the rampant stupidity. Now it looks like similar bickering is happening over Kolb/Skelton. I couldn't be happier with my decision to switch boards.

In all fairness I just suggested you needed to take a bite of the apple, you didn't have to eat the whole thing.:) But, given that Azcentral was also mentioned here, a small part of the confusion might stem from using AZFN instead of ASFN.

The web crew running the cardinals site made some tragic errors with the old forum that cost them alot of quality posters. Twice they changed the URL to the forum and only changed the link to the forum on the home page (and the link used to be way down on the right or left side) without putting in a redirect on the old URL or announcing the move. People who had the forum directly bookmarked got a 404 not found error. Lots of people never re-registered.

Right after Lisa stopped moderating someone else started (cant remember his name, ken?) and they started banning IP's (well not just IP's but entire domains.. including KoC's).

Do you remember the darksider who posted under all the serial killer aliases? (Ted Bundy, Gacy ect) I always wondered if he popped up over here under a single name.

Sadly, I don't think I ever got meet Tim in person.

When I first started following the Cards i used to read over there. Not sure how I found this site, must of been when they shut the board down over the Warner/Leinart blowup.

I've learnt so much by reading you guys debating Xs and Os and nuances of play and players, and really breaking things down in your debates. I get on here every morning and evening for my Cards fix. Never been back to the other site since.

I dunno but this dude sounds suspect.. I dont like the main Cards board as much as the next man.. but why this? So the Cards keep Max on the team.. What about the man they cut to keep Max on the team that has a family to feed?

Lil too pro Max for me.. i call ********
