THIS ONE IS FOR YOU KOC. TIM WE DID IT.
To be honest, I really could care less about ANY NFL player that "Has to feed his family" They make 10x what I make at the very very league minimum. If you play 4 or 5 years at league min you just made 1 million dollars. I HATE when people are bickering over 45 million dollar contracts and bring up the "feeding the family" thing.... Well im sure they haven't had no AC in AZ in the summer, getting food from shelters, etc. People out there have lost their job, their home and have 4 kids and have SO MUCH STRESS on how or where they are gonna lay their heads and eat. The Nation is in shambles right now so sorry but like Gee, I have NO sympathy for Max Hall if he gets cut.

The Vortex!
I started out on that board in 2001 and when Lisa Manning was running it it was actually fun. Me gee, koc, bleedingred. Diehard all used to talk for hours, then they changed it and with the change it just went downhill. I like it here and haven't even posted 100x on that board since 04

Good times!

Theory....

I think - human nature being what it is - 2 things are occuring on this site that work at cross-purposes to one another:

1. As ASFN grows, we get a broader cross section of fandome (the wise, the stupid, the vicious, the knowledgeable, the ignorant, the warm & fuzzy along with the insane). We're just one huge public Cardinal "water cooler" and that's what makes ASFN so goodly.

2. As each of us grows older, more knowledgeable and wiser (about football, the Cardinals and about life), we each tend to narrow things down to a smaller number of perspectives that work for us. I know that, for me, I tend to tune out stuff I'm less interested in and zero in on the stuff (& posters) I'm interested in and respect.

And, as a 72-year old geezer, I find myself getting more and more frustrated by comments I feel are dumb, obnoxious, cliched or a rehash of old material. (For example, I'll tend to bi-pass the various personal food fights and inside elbow-ribbing that take place among some of you).

On the other hand, I'll usually read everything Mitch posts - though I do admit to skimming and cherry-picking his longer material.

But that doesn't make the food-fights or negativity any less valid. It's just not for me. But there's no rule that forces me to read those posts.

Bottom line - It's a water cooler big enough for everybody.
