I said I don't know why I bother not why you should or should not.

And I consider it whining when the same thing is being repeated ad-nauseum and frequently off base.

You take a bit of praise Hornacek said about Leuer and use it to go on a rant about tweeners and how Hornacek has decided he won't play the guy... even though nothing of the sort was said.

"Jon has played well all training camp," he said. "He's out there trying to earn minutes. He'll continue to play. That's how Jon plays. He's just solid. He does the right things. We know Mirza will make the shots, we know Markieff will make the shots, but when they're not, Jon will be in there."
To pull your rant from THAT quote is absurd.

As for the "tweener guard" stuff; the guys we have are the types of guards you're going to see all over the league running the point. I know you want every team to run a lineup out there like its 1982 but the league has evolved. Legit pure passers are great... but they're very hard to come by, and to function in the modern NBA they also need to be great shooters. The list of competent guards around this entire league that your arguments would not peg as an "undersized SG" is about 4 names long.

Once again you misquoted. I didn't say 'Hornacek has decided he won't play the guy'.

I said, "Why would a coach rule out a player prior to beginning the season? What if he is our best option for backup at the "4"?

What does Horny have to lose by giving him a chance?" A chance to be in the rotation.

And as you said, his quote was, "We know Mirza will make the shots, we know Markieff will make the shots, but when they're not, Jon will be in there."

Obviously, Horny has already decided that Leuer will not be in the rotation. And why? Because his only criteria, as he stated, is shooting. Not rebounding. Not defense. Elite coaches evaluate their players on more than just one aspect of the game.

And yes, when I see that point come up in posts, I am going to react with consistency unless something happens to change my opinion. Just as most of our posters. I am not out to win a debate.

Bottom line. I am not pleased with Jeff Hornacek's tunnel vision as Head Coach, whether discussing the Point Guard or big men positions. It is a continuation of the recent past.

And the recent past is that our Suns have not been a playoff team. That is a fact.

Oh boy, its only pre-season and the pissing matches have already started.

:thud:

Here's hoping for a lot of wins this season to wash over a lot of the unpleasantries.
