Is Larry Fitzgerald now the best WR in the game?

This season, Larry has taken his game to a new level. Yesterday when he snatched the 36 yard prayer of a duck not seen since the days of Plummer he stood up and showed emotion. He pumped his fists he smacked helmets; you would have thought he caught a game winning TD. That's not what Larry usually does, he usually just flips the ball to the ref and lines back up for the next play. There is just something different this season.

Larry has always had unbelievable hands, ran crisp routes and had that ability to get open that you can't teach... but this season he has added a little bit of extra something that has brought him to the next level of play.

He brought down that ball with a perfectly timed jump and dominated the double coverage in a way few men in this league can. Every catch he added yesterday was clutch. Most guys dog it when they get a big contract, Larry has focused and it's amazing.

There is no better WR in the league right now than Larry Fitzgerald

Larry is good, but there is an argument for the other receiver on ths same team!

It is great to have this problem, by the way.

Yes definitely top 5. Hard to say, exactly. He has the best hands, best hops, but not the best speed or killer instict. But he does play in most every game, which also adds a lot.

:stick:

I think a lot of it has to with playing for a winner!

I still think he needs a little more speed.. If he were as fast as Q, yeah.

Yes, he's in almost every game. And he's playing like a mad man this year.
One thing DG did good was draft this guy.

Who is better than him right now? Guarantee you can't come up with 5 others. Everyone on the field knows near the endzone that it is going to Fitz, it still doesn't matter. He is approaching Randy Moss dominant territory, sans breakaway speed.

Let's put it this way. There is not another WR in the league I would trade him for.
Nobody. There may be faster receivers. There may be quicker receivers. But this guy is just STARTING to tap into hs potential. He is a matchup nightmare. He also has the BEST hands in the league not to mention a consumate pro and humble.

I might not have liked DG as the coach, but he did draft some talented players while here. Docket, Dansby, Fitz, A Smith etc etc

Who is better? I can name no other reciever who could bring down a fade route with authority, go over the middle, toe the sideline or out muscle a CB. I think in years past Steve Smith, Roy Williams and Chad Johnson were better... but right now Larry tops them all

Listen I love FItz to death. But prior to nearly being beheaded the best WR on this team and on the field in the first 4 games was Q and it wasnt even that close. He was catching the TD's etc... Had he not been hurt he would likely still be outplaying Fitz.

The guy was on a mission that much was obvious! I understand if you like Fitz better as I like Q better but that is the facts.

But who really cares? In the long run I am tickled pink to have both.

Whos better? You could make a case for Greg Jennings, Brandon Marshall, Roddy WHite, and Reggie Wayne at this point in time. Its all subjective. That being said I wouldnt take one of those guys over Fitz! :)

Q is better than Fitz in both of those areas I bolded above. He is also a better route runner and at RAC but Larry has improved that!

OK, I agree kind of, but on the other hand, what other receiver in the NFL would you trade him for straight up? Name one. (and not Boldin b/c we already have him).

I am biased because I watched the guy make absolutely sick catches that no human should be able to make last Sun. His hands are a combination of velcro and magnets.

He does not have burn speed, and is just learning YAC, but dang if that guy can't catch anything in his vicinity.

How many one handed pretty spectacular catches have you seen Q make in games? Quite a few I would venture to say. Larry is better at what he does no doubt go up in traffic and playing the sidelines. But when both are on the field really how can you distinguish?

It's hard to argue Boldin because he is a sick talent as well. They both seem to have the same game speed, I would give Boldin the edge with his blocking and "make the first guy miss" abilities.

Fitz is way more dangerous in the red zone because of his leaping ability.... however we've all seen Boldin just bowl his way into the end zone taking 4 guys with him. I definately cannot disagree with your argument Shane

Regardless, I hope they find a way to keep the entire WR corps in tact and keep us entertained for 5 or more years!!

Amen brother! Amen!

I would love to keep all 3 WR's and get a bonafide RB carrying the ball fulltime(Hightower may be him) Man would this O just be a joy to watch. Even more than it already is! If thats possible!

Seriously? Fitz is freakin clutch man. We all knew the fade was coming and yet the defender can't possibly stop it.

Q is badass there is no doubt, but to degrade Fitz to less than the top two is crazy. When they both take the field the position of #1 or #2 in the NFL changes play by play depending on who got the ball.

We are very lucky to have them both.

Why is it crazy? Because he is on our team? Hey whatever man you can call him whatever you want. But in the end I agree he is top 5 and a huge talent who I love having!

Oh, I don't disagree with you at all. Like I said I have 2 Q jerseys and no Fitz jesrerys as of now.

But the question was, what receiver among active players in the NFL today would you trade Fitz for? 1:1 no money or picks just straight up? I can't think of one.

BTW, Check out the Shane league for the leader tomorrow in your FFL money league. :)

Don't you think staying on the field should be part of being the best?
