I could live with that. Although White didn't really win anything that mattered.

Oh yeah?

September 2, 1994: The Rattlers stun the Orlando Predators, 36-31, in ArenaBowl VIII to capture the franchise’s and the state’s first world championship.

ArenaBowl XI - Danny White orchestrates a 55-33 domination of the Iowa Barnstormers with MVP quarterback Donnie Davis giving the Rattlers their second World Championship. Hunkie Cooper earns Ironman honors with a kickoff return and an interception return for touchdowns. The win also gives the Rattlers a 15-2 mark, the best in franchise history. An over-capacity crowd of 17,436 fans sets a Rattlers record in the Snake Pit to watch the game.

I want KW to announce that he's coming back tomorrow. Don't know that it's going to happen. But the Leinart bashing is really bordering on the hysterical at times. I mean, Leinart is only about the age now that Warner was when he became a starter in the NFL. And despite the amazing story of his 99 season, he didn't completely come out of nowhere. He was 4-11 in his attempts the year before (smallest sample size ever, but still). He'd been in training camps. He'd played tremendously in the Arena league. The Rams thought Trent Green was their starter.

In fact, there was far more evidence supporting the idea that Warner was washed up before he got the starting job back in Arizona than there is supporting the idea that Leinart is a bust. I mean, Warner was 13-29 as a starter since his last Super Bowl. Leinart is currently 7-9. Wins and losses are obviously team stats, but isn't that what we're looking for in the end?

This may sound weird, but I have this image of Matt playing much better on weeks when he knew he was going to start than weeks he had to enter the game in the middle. May not be true, but I am reserving judgment for now.

I can't wait to pull all of these threads back up when Matt has us in the playoffs next year.

I have this thread saved as well, for the exact opposite reason.

Honestly I hope I'm the one eating the crow not you.
But judging by how Leinart has looked thus far, have your bib ready.

:talk:

If Warner does indeed retire today, so much of this site will be focused on just this. I hope the FO and coaching staff are focused on the other side of the ball.

Matt's our starter, I know we have in him, I need to see what the other guys got!

He through a TD at the Red & white practice, I called it out just to see how he would respond to adversity.

I cut his reps, refused to run the ball, told the opposing defense we were going to pass every down so they could call the blitz every down, you know like with Kurt.
To see how Matt would respond,

Well he responded on the limited basis with a 4-6 and a 7-8 starting job performance, he followed that with a 9-10 back up role performance. the 130 QB rating was way to high against my will.

He outperformed every QB in the NFL by a fair margin last preseason. But the horrible team and newly signed DD wouldn't follow Matt, who would want to follow that elite performance?

Geez, I mean He only beat out HOFFER Warner twice? you know before I decided to destroy his development with a 2 QB system! It was the right thing to do, cause Matt got killed in the 5th game.

I had to cut Matt to make room for the SCUD , UFA Hall, and rookie 5th rounder Skelton. How could we live with ourselves if we let any of them go to the practice squad.

Besides I hate Heisman trophy winners and goody 2 shoes that dress for 4 NCAA championship games and ONLY win 2 and destroy John Elway's passing TD records, 99 TDs to Elways 77.

Just who does Matt think He is, letting the Titans drive 99 yards for a winning score in his only start in 3 years. damn it I gave Kurt all the reps to keep Matt rusty!

yea those 2 TD's in the first 1/4 of his first 2 NFL starts were a fluke under Denny, you know the 3 100+ Qb ratings and the 405 yard record day as a rookie. I know its about as many Td's as my hand picked QB's will score this year.

But their leaders, just look at them, besides if another player supposrts Matt or steps out of line i'll nutt him. aske Deuce, Reggie Wells, Beanie Wells.

I would rather lose with 10 THTS damn it. I 'm a head football coach with a new contract, and i aint a scared to abuse it.
