Never should have traded him within the division...yes they are stupid. Unless they know something about an injury that SF doesn't

Yup. If your going to trade him fine. But no way do you trade a player like that within the division.

SF still needs to do something about their line. Staley should be a good pro but not this year.

Moss is not welcome on the 49ers. Although he is talented, he does not possess the kind of character Mike Nolan requires, that is why Antonio Bryant is gone. Also, Moss wanted to go to a team that was primed for a SB appearance. New England, of course, is the obviouse choice.

It's looking to me like the Hawks are falling off, The Rams seem to be climbing slightly, The Cards are improving, as are the Niners.

It looks like it may be us fighting for the top spot in the west.

Something is up

Whenever a team with no cap stress cuts or trades what seems like a perfectly productive player -- there is more to the story

Could be that D Jax was chafing at the Deion Branch contract and making waves. Could be that Seattle in watching him up close concluded that he was done.

I will put the odds at 3-1 that Jackson doesnt produce 80% of his Seattle stats from 2006.

Jackson has had injury problems for the past couple of years as long as contract issues - apparently the prior managment made a verbal agreement to up his contract - then they were let go

new mgmt didn't agree to up his contract and he's been at odds with them ever since

after seattle traded for Branch and gave him a new deal Jackson started to write "DB Money" on his shoes - he also has completely skipped all offseason training programs with the team for the past couple of years - not only does that upset timing with the QBs, the ability to hone some of the issues that have cropped up - but also leads the staff to wonder if doing his own conditioning is helping his injuries to the extent that working out with the teamwould

the guy has that laid back florida approach to the game - this is shown by his drops, his demeanor through the game and that he really doesn't impose himself as much as he should

with that said, when he's on he's a flat out amazing receiver - capable of bursting big plays, making tough grabs and taking over a game - he has 7 years in a WCO and should transition into SF smoothly - not sure how many years he has ahead of himself, but he can still play - i'll definitely miss watching him in the AZ game as he usually showed up well against the cards

I don't like the same division trade - but divisional impact is a lot less than it used to - I also don't like how this thins the receiving corp - but it makes room for DJ Hackett to emerge and puts the pressure on burleson to perform as a WR - this also cements branch as the go to option - right now I see the depth chart as Branch, Hackett, Engram, Burleson - not a bad foursome, but not much behind them

They got a potential sleeper in the 6th in Jordan Kent. His size speed combo is pretty rare. Still learning to play as a former basketball player but a great athlete.

Not to mention that Moss didn't want to be a 49er. He wanted to go to a super bowl contender. That is why he went to the patriots. Brady and Moss are going to be a scary combination.

I don't see it but we'll see. ONe of the things wtih the Pats is they seem to run a LOT of crossing routes. They really demand their WR's to go over the middle, that's why speedy guys haven't been great there but a guy like Gaffney played a lot better there, he's very good over the middle.

Randy Moss does NOT go over the middle, hasn't for years but last year it got really bad, he gave up several picks because he just stopped short on routes out of fear of getting hit. Unless they just use him to run deep patterns to open the middle for others, I can't see him fitting? One of the keys to that system is that Brady trusts his WR will be where he's supposed to, and throws before the break, you do that with Moss you throw a lot more picks because he often quits on routes.

Addition by subtraction for Oakland, and a decent gamble for NE.

They said he ran a 4.29 in a private workout for the Pats adn that convinced them to trade for him.

I think Moss will have his best year as a Pro this season. I am thinking over 100 reception 1500 yards in recieving and 20 TD this season. IMO the patroits are going back to the super bowl.

The way Brady spreads the ball around?

He certainly still has the talent, but Brady throws to the open guy and if you don't play all out, he won't throw to you. ANd he's not going to lock onto MOss the way Culpepper did.

Will be interesting, Dillon did quite well there and many thought he wouldn't.

Darrell Jackson getting traded is about one thing and one thing only: money. His contract was structured so his base salary increases every year. The Seahawks were spening too much money on WRs and remember that D-Jax's replacement, D-Hack, is just as good as him.

That said, with all his problems dropping the ball, getting injured and landing out of bounds in the Super Bowl, he is still one of the best deep threats in the league and was right behind TO in the touchdowns standings with 12.

That is because Brady didn't have a WR like Moss. Moss will be open all day long in the Afc East. I really don't' see a Corner or secondary that will be able to cover him consistantly. He will get his fair share of looks if not more.

We all seen how Culpepper's career has been going since Moss left him.
