Is Sowell better than anything else we have?

This line wouldn't have looked bad at all if Palmer would have simply stepped up into the pocket when he had the opportunity. The sack/fumble would not have happened, and he would not have thrown short so many times from throwing off his back foot.

There was no pocket most of the day. They were collapsing it on most obvious pass situations. The line didn't hold up well at all.

Palmer for his part can not fumble and throw INT's early and put this line in those situations ON THE ROAD. It didn't help one iota. He consistently under-threw open receivers today as well. Too little to late.

Putting Massie in at LT or moving Winston over to LT and then starting Massie at RT are both better options than Sowell. How many times does he have to be beat to realize that he isn't any good.

Massie needs to out there again. He's got experience.

Honestly, the 2 biggest needs in the offseason are LT & RT. I was hoping for either Lewan or Koundjio but I don't think they will be on the board when ARZ picks. So I feel ARZ needs to sign Eugene Monroe & either Jared Veldheer or Branden Albert to solidify the OL. I know the cap with be limited but those two moves NEED to happen because Winston & Sowell are gone after the year and NEED to go. Cooper will be back next year so that should improve the interior.

Obviously the LT & RT always get the most exposure... but Colledge and Sendlein got bowled over quite a few times as well... Palmer got panicky again, and there ya go... off to game 5 antics in the first half

I would be really surprised if the Cards spent heavy on outside free agents this offseason. Keim has already said that the 2015 offseason is the one where they will have the most flexibility -- inferring that this upcoming one wont be all that hot.

This is compounded by the fact that a few of the one year contract guys -- Dansby, Shaughnessy, etc have played well and need to be paid

I think o line help comes from Cooper being healthy and the draft.

You don't want Lewan on this team.

The starting offensive line has a waiver wire pickup at LT, a guy who was out of football last year at RG, and a free agent signed in June at RT.

The line is the definition of a "patchwork" offensive line. I am shocked they play as well together as they do.

Getting a functional LT and Cooper back will do wonders. At that point, guys like Sowell and Fanaika go back to being very valuable depth.

Fully agree!

I agree that the draft makes more sense but would you take the 4th or 5th best OT in the draft because that's what ARZ will most likely be looking at because the Big 3 will be gone by the time they pick unless they lose the last 4 games and some bad teams like HOU & ATL win some games.

Could be true. If the season ended today the Cards would draft around 19th.

Last year Eric Reid, Justin Pugh and Kyle Long went 18,19,20. Maybe we can get a Chandler Jones who went 21st or Whitney Mercilus who went 26th in 2012.

I like the safety from Bama Clinton-Dix. Think he'd upgrade a very good D, and bring it to another level. Seattle style.

With how poorly So well has played thus far and the horror show that was our LT situation last year I'm thinking the Cards have to get someone in FA. Doesn't have to be a big name or big bucks but some kind of upgrade to less than crappy.

Then go after a LT in the draft anywhere in the first 3 rounds.

What I want to know is what in the heck happened to Massie that he can't beat out Winston who hasn't blocked anybody since week 6.

The whole Massie thing is very confusing. He played well the last half of 2012 according to other websites and us fans. I know why Winston started over him because Massie was making far too many mental errors in TC & PS. Maybe he just isn't very bright and can't handle weekly and half time adjustments.

The good news is he is getting on the field before Potter when BA brings in a 6th Olineman. Man oh man do we need Massie to be the future at RT. As you pointed out Duck, Winston isn't very good.
