Russell Wilson may be leaving the Pittsburgh Steelers for greener pastures, as reports indicate the veteran QB will visit both the New York Giants and the long-time rivals of the Black and Gold—the Cleveland Browns.

One could argue that the Pittsburgh Steelers would shudder at the idea of Wilson taking his "moon ball" to Cleveland, and that scenario might work out perfectly for the 36-year-old quarterback.

If "Mr. Unlimited" hopes to reach the playoffs or even chase another Super Bowl in 2025, the Pittsburgh Steelers may be his best shot—even if the Steel City winning its seventh Lombardi Trophy this season seems unlikely.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly not interested in a reunion with Wilson in 2025 and have instead been connected to four-time MVP Jets QB Aaron Rodgers over the past week—and what better way to rekindle the Black and Gold interest in Wilson than to fabricate his supposed desire to sign with Cleveland?

The Pittsburgh Steelers would be wise to call his bluff, as they recently signed Mason Rudolph in a backup QB role—the position Wilson likely should have been relegated to after his five-game losing streak in 2024. Wilson may have little actual interest in signing with the Browns, and who could blame him? After all, to quote former Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, "The Browns is the Browns."
