He paid his dues. I think he was about 60 when he was named interim head coach in Indy. Love the guy but he was a little stubborn when it came to some of his coaches, too loyal, if there is such a thing.

He wasn’t as good at assembling a staff or attention to detail. He was also hard to work with for the GM. He was the right fit for the Cards, but when he lost his lead dog at QB, BA wasn’t good adapting to win with a game manager at QB.

He is my favorite coach of all time, followed closely by Ozzie Guillen. He holds players accountable but lets them play and doesn’t give boring coach speak answers. Tells it like it is.
