I have heard his cap hit is not significant so probably not, but what are they going to do w/this guy?

If he was going to be cut they would have done it, last year of his contract so the timing is irrelevant to the cap

If we sign no other RB's then TJ needs to be on this team. HE has never showed that he is a distraction or a cancer. So if he has no trade value then he could be a valuable Backup for when Shipp goes down. And he will IMO. Why give him away by cutting him. Although most of us did not want TJ when he was picked(we wanted Urlacher) Rb has been a constant problem on this team due to injury or suspensions. We need him for depth. Not untested ,undrafted project guys. TJ is probably closer to an Adrian Murrell than he is to a Marshall Faulk or Garrison Hearst. But I would rather not give him away for anything less than a #3. Does anyone want to see Shipp injured and hear that Anderson or Scobey is now the starting back. That would suck with our line being as good as it is. Tj with this line and healthy has already shown that he can get it done on the field. He would make the best back up. Good question King.

If it is proven that he lied about his injury then I say goodbye to his sorry ass. Doing what he did was dumb, and to lie about it? Not the type of person I want on my team. I think you cut him just to cut him, that way he isn't around to be a distraction or cancer.

I've always felt he never has shown his potential, which I thought could be tremendous. It's interesting that when he was drafted he was compared to Emmitt Smith....now, if the Cardinals pick up Emmitt....who else to show him how it's done other than the guy he was compared to? Also, TJ showed poor judgement when he lied about the broken hand (as it appears he did) and who else but Emmitt could school him a little on how to build character that's beyond reproach. TJ is a guy that could learn a lot from Emmitt, ya know?

Since this is TJ's last year contract wise, it makes no difference whether we cut him now or after June 1. Under both scenarios, the cap hit for this year is 1/4 of his signing bonus, and his cap hit for next year is $0.

I would expect we are holding him as trade bait, but since we let T-Bo go for nothing, I cant imagine we'll get much for TJ.

Who the hell is T-Bo? Is that some new name you gave David Boston?

If we sign Emmitt, it's bye-bye Thomas Jones. I just hope that Graves' braintrust finds a way to Shipp (pun intended) him to someone for a draft pick, or maybe trade up in the first round and snag Suggs?

I can dream can't I?

If the Cardinals sign Emmitt, I think the headlines will read something like this " EMMITT SIGNS T.J. CUT" I have been pulling for TJ ever since the Cardinals signed him, but I think that last year he did display a sorry a$$ed attitude. He complained about the carries that Shipp got, he didn't show up at practice or games to cheer on his team after the injury, and lying and having his mother lie for him about his injury.:( :( :( His a$$ needs to hit the tracks.

I say make tj drag his ass up to flagstaff for a few weeks and then make him a final roster cut...

you know he is counting on being out of here..why make it easy on him..

on the other hand...why give him a few weeks to taint younger players...

I am torn on this one:wave:

I say trade Thomas Jones and a Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free card to the Raiders for Park Place and Oriental Ave.! We can deal someone for Boardwalk later...
