I think we just keep Tyson. I would like to have more production from him, but the cap space is not that big of a deal and this team needs some stability. If someone comes knocking with a good offer, sure, think about it. But there are other priorities.

I do think that between now and the deadline, there are a number of teams that will inquire about Leuer.

And of course Tyson would be tradeable.

13M$ is nothing with the new cap. I doubt you will see decent players signing for less than 10M$ per.

When things are going poorly there isn't anything he can say (or not say) that will appease most fans. And when things are going this poorly, almost everything sounds like an alibi. Seriously, what would you like to hear him say that would actually benefit him and the team?
His mentor was Cotton. What would Cotton say to the Press? Probably something like, "Tough times, guys. Better days are coming. We're working on it." With a twinkle in his eye.

Jeff just gives off an aura of helplessness. As Head Coach, he is the most visible one setting the tone. Unfortunately, he is. And it rolls downhill. To the team, to the Press and to the fans.

And what he does -- his day to day indecision -- doesn't help.

Jeff is too nice a guy to be the figurehead. But, apparently, it is what it is for the rest of the season. I feel for the young players who are learning professional basketball in this negative environment. And it is out there for everyone to see.

The problem is that he is the kind of "yes" man with whom Sarver is comfortable. Our next Coach will probably be more of the same and Sarver will have bought three more years.

For an activity that is supposed to give fans a break from our own day to day routines, it's just more stress. It's sad!

Or Cotton might say the Suns don't have enough talent. :)

Smiley notwithstanding, I don't think Cotton would have said that.

He would have had the Suns playing teamwork (no matter how good or bad they were) to make the whole better than the sum of its parts.

As we all know, Jeff's biggest flaw is lack of consistency.

The exact quote was, "Read my lips, The Suns need better players." Cotton said it. I remember it clearly.

OK. But when Jeff alibis, it sounds like whining. Of course, as a rookie coach (which Cotton wasn't his second time around), Jeff hasn't earned anyone's respect. And it's obvious that Sarver wants a puppet in that role.

Sadly, if Sarver were to fire Jeff before the end of the season, the interim Coach would be inexperienced and even more of a puppet. And, knowing Sarver's approach, so would next season's Head Coach.

Until the housecleaning starts right at the top, it's all just words and frustration for everyone. It flows downhill.

I’m not jumping ship,” Chandler said before putting up 12 points and 13 rebounds in the Suns’ 91-78 loss to the Mavs. “If the organization decides to move me or something like that, then clearly that’s something that’s out of my control. But I came here and I came here for a reason.

“I thought it was a young, promising team, and I wanted to be a part of helping turn this around and go to the next level. I still feel like I’m capable of doing that, and I feel like this organization is capable of doing that. It’s just clearly some things have to change.”

But Chandler has had to alter his leadership style. Blunt and direct doesn’t work with teammates whose skin hasn’t been thickened by years of NBA experience. He’s trying a kinder, gentler, more patient approach.

“When I was in Dallas or even in New York, I could be vocal,” Chandler said. “Get on guys, guys could take it. Guys being a little older understand it. Here, you know how badly things are going. I personally feel like it’s not the place."

Glad to know he doesn't wanna go ring chasing like many veterans would want but I do hope he IS more vocal. Just feels like the Suns haven't had a true vocal leader with credibility in a very long time and this team needs it.

I wonder if him taking more of a silent leadership role had anything to do with directives from McD and/or Hornacek. He was brought in to be a veteran leader, I'm sure they knew he was a vocal leader everywhere he's been. I can understand not lashing out negatively that much with the younger players but I wonder if his leadership was counter productive to how Hornacek was running the team. Based on all that was said when he was acquired I'm fairly certain McD knew what he was getting when he signed Chandler, that's why I think it's more of a Hornacek issue.

Len and Chandler can be a good center rotation if they don't have to be the stars of the team but serviceable role players.

We have enough young guards to make a good run with them if they are positioned correctly.

Our forwards are a ghost town. Crickets. A couple guys who might make decent backups, but aint no Lebrons or Kevins or Duncans up there - the star power you need to make a run at a title in the NBA. They are supposed to be your key scorers and defenders.
