Hoover why don't you and Osprey go sip tea somewhere together and talk about friendliness and sportsmanship. That world doesn't exist in the NBA, it's men and a league that rewards cheap shots and violence, we are just trying to keep up the pace. We tried being good sports and we may get our season taken away for it.

While they may be final, that doesn't mean they aren't wrong. I'm sure you'll ban me now, which is fine if thats what you choose to do, but he didn't deserve it.

Please give me (and the rest of the board) why you aren't probating people who are promoting violence? Why aren't people who are asking for a thug to come in and hurt Tim Duncan being banned?

I'm a huge Suns fan, and I want them to win. But all the talk on this board of wanting thugs, or wanting the fans to throw things, its obscene, and stupid. We aren't Romans watching Gladiators, we ought to hold ourselves to a higher standard.

You made the wrong call on this one, sorry. He was RIGHT, Suns fans absolutely shouldn't act like whiners or be immature and throw things at the Spurs, or do anything like that.

Ospry was saying Suns fans should act classy, and not act like 5 year olds, yet he gets probated? I don't get that.

In my opinion, the Suns fans saying things like "lets throw a goon in and hurt the Spurs" or "lets throw trash at the Spurs" are the ones who need to be probated (just for a few hours perhaps). Would you want your youth league team to act like thugs? Do you want parents at a little league game throwing trash at the opposing team? I didn't think so, and you shouldn't want those things in the NBA either.

I urge you to change your decision on Ospry, he wasn't trolling and he was right. Perhaps he could've been less sarcastic about it, but he was right.

This isn't a youth league. Playoff basketball is meant to be physical and this team needs to fight back. Maybe not literally fight back but something needs to be done. We won't win playing soft.

Because maybe he doesn't want around 80% of the Suns fans banned. :)

I'm not saying play soft, but I am saying don't intentionally try to hurt someone. Basketball was designed to be an up tempo game based around shooting and passing, thats what Dr Naismith had said. It was never meant to be football or hockey, and I don't want it to become those things.

I'm all for (safely) fouling a bad free throw shooter on a fast break or things like that, but bringing in Sean Marks and telling him "go kick Duncans knees in", thats crap and shouldn't be tolerated by any civilized person.

I understand, people promoting violence should receive one hour probation's. That way they can still post, but will be sent the message that violence, or the threat of violence will not be tolerated in civil discussions among civilized people.

EDIT: Remember what Barkley said guys, "We don't riot in Phoenix, we're civilized in Phoenix." He's right, we don't riot, and we shouldn't retaliate with cheap thuggery either. We should hold ourselves to a higher standard.

People are angry and justifiably venting.

They don't need other team's fans following them from thread to thread just making it worse. That is what Osprey was doing. Period. End of story. I am not reconsidering.

I absolutely don't agree with responding with violence but I am not going to ban upset Suns fans as you are suggesting.

This isn't up for debate. Further discussion will result in this thread being trashed.

Higher standards don't win championships. Sending in the goons is, apparently, "playoff basketball." This is on the Spurs for their dirty tactics, the refs for allowing that crap to continue to get to this point and the league office for handing out the suspensions the way they did. I want to see some Spurs get taken out. Eye for an eye.

You're doing a great job today, Chris. I know this isn't an easy day to be a moderator.

Not saying to hurt anyone myself. I'm saying a hard foul that will cause some pain which would make a star player on the opposing team react and be suspended. I don't want anyone injured. :)

I am saying hurt someone - why not? They are uber rich, have titles, have the league in their pocket, and play dirty. I'm not gonna shed any tears if a Spur gets hurt.

Two wrongs don't make a right, what is so hard to understand that? Are you so hungry for a championship you are willing to throw any morals down the toilet? Thats seems crazy to me.

Some day I hope to tell my kids about the 2007 Suns, who despite all odds, despite silly rules, acted like gentlemen and won the NBA title.

ok Ned Flanders. Maybe you should have your kids swim or play golf or something. YES WE ARE THAT HUNGRY FOR A CHAMPIONSHIP. We are freaking snakebitten, injury riddled every time we get deep in playoffs. Now finally when we are healthy and have a fairly easy road after SA, we got screwed like this in THE pivotal upcoming game. The spurs have done several things this series that we looked past, this is TOO MUCH. I was a fan of still taking the high road UNTIL the league decided to award the Spurs the series for making a goon play. That's the NBA if you don't like it you should steer your kids to the above mentioned type of sports.

I don't actually have kids, I'm only 23, but I'll surely take your silly advice into consideration, though I won't know how to coach swimming or golf since basketball has been my passion since 1st grade, I'll try though!

Obviously I'm not going to convince you to act with class, and you aren't going to convince me to cheer for thuggery, so I guess we just have to agree to disagree.

Ritz Carlton on Camelback is where the Spurs will be.

Now see, I'm all for Suns fans standing outside the hotel with megaphones, drums and screaming and keeping the Spurs up all night. That can't harm the Suns in anyway, it doesn't hurt anyone, and its a good way to get out your aggression out with out harming anyone.

If things start going sour for the Suns, I'm all for starting a Euro-style melee.

Don't bring your kids to the game.

Sounds kind of like the rule that led to these suspensions in the first place.

Would you? I don't know what the laws are in a situation like that. I wouldn't do it for fear of getting arrested, but if you are all so angry and want to get out your aggression, regardless of the consequences it seems like the thing to do.

That sums it up pretty well. I was going to post pictures of flowers and clouds with the quote "This wins you Mr Nice Guy awards."

Look, this is not kindergarten badmitten, it's 250 lb GROWN MEN playing a physical sport that the SPURS have turned into a thug-fest.

IF THAT IS WHAT THEY DO AND WHAT THE NBA IS ALLOWING YOU HAVE TO RESPOND IN KIND.

If I'm playing beer-league softball, I don't go into the game thinking "what can I get away with tonight"......BUT, if some guy on the other team throws a cheap shot, he might get some angry words. If he then throws our star player to the dirt, a fight will ensue.

I never wanted the series to be like this, but this is what it has become Hoover......the nice guys in this series will be fishing soon and you can blame that on the Spurs, not the Suns.
