After some signs of life in the middle of the season our Cardinals are back to being one of the worst teams in the NFL.

Disgraceful.

Green is turning the end of the season into a joke

Dennis Green is a joke. The most overrated coach in the NFL. In the end, does anyone really care that we lucked out on Dockett, and Dansby, etc... if we don't win? People, at least 3 of our losses were games we should have won. We didn't. We are a badly coached team, yet again.

I don't know about a "joke" but Green is surely testing the patience of everyone in and around the organization.

I can imagine the Bidwills are fuming after that disgraceful performance.

Everyone knew we would suck this year. At least we were competitive.

Next year should be better.

This offseason will be crazier than last offseason.

Agreed...while I am disappointed by the losses, this team clearly has a lot of work to go. The pieces appear to be in place however, and with some additions in the offseason, i expect us to be competing for the NFC west.

Yeah, I'm sure they are shocked by the loss and how Denny Green is screwing up their legacy!

See, that's part of the problem. We accept defeat with that kind of mindset (nothing personal with you, just thought I'd use your post as an opportunity to pontificate) :D Green is overrated - big time.

The Bidwills have been making an effort to get this team competitive for the last several years.

AND

Green firing a rookie 7th rounder out there to start a road game was a questionable decision at best.

You put those two things together, and I promise that Bill Sr. won't be fun to be around tonight. Our QB play was an embarrassment.

I am a jinx. I say I want the Broncos to lose and within 1 minute they complete a 50 yard pass.

I bet they are. They paid well for Green, he should produce or get canned.

Well, if they can him after this season (that's what you would do, right?) and eat 8 million dollars that would certainly be un-Bidwillian.

I doubt the Bidwills are as impatient as the fans are. Maybe I'm wrong, and I'd like to be, but you don't have a lot of history to point at to support the idea they are flipping their lids over this loss. These are the same owners who brought back McGinnis after a 48-0 loss to KC at the same point in the season two years ago.

If all that we achieved this first season under Green is making our defense the most improved in the NFL. I say successful first season for the turnaround.

I'm not sure Mr B is ever fun to be around, is he? Doesn't strike me as the life of the party.

Yes, we've improved. Even offensively, we're not the worst in the league like we were last year. I think it's easy to forget just how horrid we were last year.

On the other hand, I can understand being frustrated because the NFC and the division might never be weaker than they were this season. I'm frustrated. The key losses of the year were not this one, but the Atlanta and SF games early in the year. Even one of those would've changed things dramatically. But losing both just made the hole too deep with the young team we have.

Yeah good post.

I still remember under Mac almost crying everytime our defense took the field. NO MORE my friends!

Excellent post. And yes, it's quite sad that we could not take this division. If the Rams and Seahawks lost the rest of their games and we beat only those two teams the rest of the way out we'd take the division. We'd be 6-10 with the Seahawks and have the head to head tiebreaker!

But since the Rams won today that forces us to flat out beat them in record. (No head to head tie-breaker, moves on to division record, which at this point we can't match)

Ironically enough, it's still possible to take this division. We just have to win all three remaining division games and hope the Rams/Seahawks get wailed on by their brutal schedule of remaining games. Our remaining schedule is perhaps the easiest in the NFL.

Anyone who expected a lot this year was sucking down gallons of Kool-Aid.

I expect us to sneak into the playoffs next season, and get back there again the following year.

The following season, we just might get to the NFC championship game.

That's 4 years down the road from jump...that's even being optimistic.

While today's loss was tough to take I don't think the team is really bottom of the barrel like I did during the Miami game.

Jets 9-3
Bills 4-1 since they played AZ losing only to NE
Carolina - haven't played any top teams but they've won 4 straight.

Of course the Cards beat THE worst team in the NFL, Miami, and barely beat the Giants, a team that has lost 5 in a row.

We'll see where this team really is next Sunday. On the way out of last year's black hole or sinking back into the abyss that is Arizona Cardinal football tradition.
