Of the 32 teams in the NFL, only 4 teams have not chosen a quarterback since the Cards last took a QB in the first round of the regular draft. The last time the Cardinals chose a QB in the opening round it was the awful Kelly Stouffer selection in 1987 (we passed on Rod Woodson that year). The only teams to go longer than the Cardinals in this category are:
Dolphins-Dan Marino (83)
Chiefs-Todd Blackledge (83)
Saints-Archie Manning (71)
Rams-Bill Munson (64)
With the possibility that maybe Young and probably Cutler being available at number 10, it's time the Cardinals address the QB position with a "young gun." Warner will serve as a good interim candidate this year, but a young long-term solution is sorely needed. The Cardinals over the years have relied too much on past prime leaders such as: Cliff Stoudt, Gary Hogeboom, Kent Graham, Jeff Blake, Jim McMahon, Jay Schroeder, and a "cast of thousands." It's time Cardinal fans for the team to select a signal caller number 1. Young and/or Cutler if there at number 10 is worthy of the pick.
