Its time for the Nash era to come for an end, it was a hell of a ride.

They need to draft defensive minded players, and try and build a defensive minded team.

The Suns minimally needs a new and experienced GM with a vision of how to rebuild this team. I just don't think it's going to happen unless Sarver sells the Suns which I'm beginning to think is more and more likely. However, if Sarver keeps the team, I think even he must realize that Kerr has really ripped the inside out of this franchise by not stocking it with talent.

Luckily when we go in the toilet next year we'll have our lottery pick to rebuild. Oh wait...

I feel like vomitting. Maybe we can con OKC into taking our pick this year in exchange for our 2010 pick back, and then we can truly just tank it up in 2009. Yeah right..

i wonder if the colangelos r laughing or crying?

Just remind you, Calangelo Jr. is in no better situation than Kerr. No at all. The Raptors are in a much worse record, Bosh said he will leave in 2010. He probably doesn't have any spare time to pay any attention to the Suns. :p

let's rebuild. pick up the buyout option on Nash. get rid of Barnes. Find another servicable PG. Trade Shaq to Clips for Camby and Kaveman. let's go from there. maybe hire Ivaroni to replace Gentry who has been bad at substituion and preparing the team in the last 5 games, which might be hardly possible with Nash in the lineup for him.

why don't we get the likes of Carney and A. White when they were cast away for nothing! geez.

I dont even know where to begin with a suns rebuilding process - are we going to have cap room in 2010? We have no draft picks coming up, and our prospects (Dudley, Lopez, Dragic etc) all seem to suck. Hard to see us contending within the next decade honestly but I'd start by dishing Nash and Shaq for whatever you can get and rebuild around Amare, Barbosa, Amundson our new big 3 lol

Need to keep J-rich for a little bit. Barbs J-rich Hill and Amare is fine until we get a good defensive PG and a good defensive minded center (Ben wallace, or camby would be good) then we can make hill go off the bench and move J-rich to the SF position and barbs to the sg position. Then we can trade j-rich for depth for a decent back up SG for Barbs and a decent back up center for whoever we get as a starter. Would be a dream come true if we could trade a package around J-rich to whoever drafts Rubio from Spain.

By summer time, the Cavs will be more than happy to trade Ben for Shaq. They are already talking about it right now.

It was also heavily rumored before deadline that Cuban wanted to trade Dampier for Shaq. The Mavs is also just a team barely make the playoff. So I'm sure Cuban still likes such a deal.

I don't think the Clippers has any interest on Shaq.

F'n cheapskate Sarver.

Come on. I am not by ANY means a Sarver fan, but the Suns have the 6th highest payroll in the NBA and the 3rd highest in the West. The guy just sacrificed $20 million to give this team another chance. Has he sold a lot of draft picks? Yah. Do I hate the fact that we were stupid enough to do that? Yah. But they invested so much in trying to get this city it's first NBA championship NOW that they sacrificed our whole future. Now it's definitely coming back to bite them, but we can't just write him off as a complete cheapskate and say he didn't try when he is paying out more than anyone else in league save 5 people.

In a van...down by the river.
The only current players i want to see back next year are:
Barbosa
Dragic
JRich
Amundsen
Dudley
Barnes
Shaq

I'm on the fence w/Amare but leaning towards bringing him back.
Nash and Hill needed to be traded like yesterday.

I want the SUNS to go get a young, Lindsay Hunter type PG.....a guy that doesn't need the ball, that can feed the post, shoot and defend.
I want Barbosa to start at SG.
I also would like to see Artest brought in to replace G.Hill....but i'm crazy like that.
Thats all i know for now.
Next year is going to suck, but enough of the whole "Let's infuse this team with choir boys that can score mentality"...its time to take a different approach.

A majority of the Suns luxury tax problems will be solved if they do not pick up Nash's final year right? They have to pay him a 5M buyout, but he shouldn't be towards the cap next year. Maybe he will play for a veterans contract... :)

Makes no sense to keep JRich if you want Barbosa to start. JRich is better then Barbosa IMO. Barbosa can still play great off the bench.

Also, in terms of Shaq, if your rebuilding it makes no sense to keep him. Your better off getting what you can for him now why he has any value.

Because the Suns don't have their pick, there is no way that we try to rebuild until after the 2010 season so we don't give another team a high draft pick.

The Sun's really can't retool though either. Your only player that will bring significant players in return is Amare. I guess that is one option but if the players being offered for Amare this year were any indication of what he is worth......that isn't going to help this team. Shaq and Nash basically have to be traded now or you will get nothing later.

Man...not having that 2010 pick really hurts.

Nothing isn't necessarily bad. They had nothing when they traded away Marbury for nothing but cap space. They can have that.
