actually Shaq is more likely to go than Nash. he actually requested a trade this off season.

Where did you see that? I hope your not referring to the little blurb in the LA Times or whatever. I think without question Nash is gone because he is our only old player with any trade value. Keeping Nash around is a waste during a rebuilding period.

Barbosa certainly has trade value. Amare certainly has trade value.

But IMO Shaq is still likely to go because he is old and got a huge contract we could dump. His trade value has also gone up a bit and I can imagine Cleveland or Dallas making offers this offseason.

If Cleveland fails to get a championship this year for sure they will want shaq. They wanted shaq before the all star break and his value has gone up so I don't see why we can't get ben wallace if we are losing shaq anyway.

ideally, Nash, Amare, and Shaq all need to be traded this offseason. get some value for them while you still can....or at the very least use them to restructure out salary cap figures for the next couple years.

trading shaq is going to be difficult. he's an ideal big man for a contending team, or at least a team that thinks it CAN contend with shaq. those teams probably dont have great draft picks either, or will be willing to give up quality players to get him. so matching up is going to be tough.

same thing with Nash. he's older, but can still lead a veteran mature bunch.

Amare is going to get you the best rebuilding pieces though.

OH, and i have to add. to all those who want to go into rebuild mode while keeping Amare.....IMO its relatively stupid. this team is still in "crash and burn" mode, and will be like that for a couple more years at least. NO 2010 draft pick. NO cap space. NO rookie contracts.

trade him NOW, so we arent Garnetting him for years....with each side a complete burden to the other. YOU CANNOT rebuild with one guy eating $20mil in cap space, with no QUALITY rookie contracts to offset the cap difference.

Barbosa certainly has trade value. Amare certainly has trade value.

Anybody you bring back at Barbosa's salary isn't going to bring you back the same calibur player in return when you match salary. So, in a way Barbosa doesn't really have any trade value if your trying to get something back in return. Unless, he is included in a multiplayer deal.

My guess if the Suns make that deal it might be just to match salary. I don't think he is the same great defensive player anymore and is old.

In a van...down by the river.
Makes no sense to keep JRich if you want Barbosa to start. JRich is better then Barbosa IMO. Barbosa can still play great off the bench.

Also, in terms of Shaq, if your rebuilding it makes no sense to keep him. Your better off getting what you can for him now why he has any value.
JRich>Barbosa....i think its debatable, especially by next season.
Offensively? I'd argue that Barbs is the more dominant player.
Defensively? Slight edge to JRich...i guess. He's been slow to react IMO. I think its a wash.
IQ? JRich but Barbs has made great strides.
JRich has been dissappointing here,Barbosa is still getting better IMO. I think its time for Barbs to start.
As for Shaq i'd rather try to trade him at the deadline next season and hope for a 2010 1st rd draft pick in return, but i wouldn't be opposed to moving him sooner i suppose.
